He puts us in good shape for many, including his twin Gage. Look forward to seeing what OLmen we bring in to protect him. Heck his commitment coukd even sway some current OLmen in this class to flip.

 

Wasn't Vandegref (sp?) at an even lower level? I would take him in the portal if he left in good standing.

He was single A - private school.

He rated higher that Carlos Del Rio in the Elite 11 because his JR season stats were better. CDR played for McEachern (7A) and Vandergrif played pop warner teams.

 

I had some real hope for Del Rio. I was disappointed to never hear good things about how he was developing.

 

I think Billy wants McCall since he had first hand experience coaching against him.

 

Back to DJ for a moment - With AR's departure, I wonder how or if that affects his thinking from a couple of perspectives. Firstly, will it affect his decision one way or the other on committing to UF? Secondly, if he does commit to the good guys, will he consider reclassifying to the '23 class to avoid giving Rashada a full year's head start on winning the job?

You could be right but the experts seldom are either get a lot of high rated players and hope they pan out.

Recruiting class for 2024 is a success or failure based on what happens Wednesday, IMO. Harsh but that’s reality. He commits to USC, coupled with our portal exodus, we’re gonna look like the same rudderless program we’ve been for the last 12 years or so.
