I acknowledge it is a type of but not as good as a RCT. Hope that makes you feel better.

Not a peer-reviewed study. Denis Rancourt is a former physics Prof. who now self publishes, as he works for a Canadian ACLU.

The article cites multiple studies all of which with one exception were published prior to the emergence of Covid-19. The one study published in 2020 focused on influenza and most likely relied on data compiled prior to the emergence of Covid. The studies also focused entirely on protection of the wearer of the mask, not whether masks could prevent transmission by infected individuals. The following is far more relevant.
Effectiveness of Face Mask or Respirator Use in Indoor ...
I would add that the study was based on the timeframe prior to the emergence of the Omicron variant which is more transmissible than earlier forms of the disease. Based on the studies that I have read my impression is that N95 and KN95 masks protect both the wearer and others. Surgical masks provide relatively little protection against the Omicron variant. Personally, I don't wear a mask except in healthcare facilities in which masks are mandatory and in such facilities they do have a real value in protecting vulnerable patients from other individuals who may be infected with the virus.

A week ago when I visited a local lake the ducks were having a discusion regarding Dr. Humphries and the anti-vax movement.

One of the vaccines she claims doesn't work.

As expected…Long Covid is more unnecessary hysteria for the machine to peddle propaganda about. It is like any other virus. Shocker!

Looks like the Covid culture war is also driving down overall immunization from unrelated perils. Not good

The required shots — which do not include COVID-19 vaccinations — are designed to protect against diseases including tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps, rubella, influenza B, hepatitis B and polio.

“Those are historically all diseases … that have caused, in the past, significant mortality and morbidity in children when these diseases were prevalent and we weren’t vaccinating,” Kathleen Ryan, a pediatrician and infectious disease specialist at the University of Florida College of Medicine, told The News Service of Florida in an interview.

Because the organisms that cause those diseases “don’t go away” even when most people are vaccinated against them, they can begin to resurface if people are vulnerable to them. As an example, tetanus lives in the soil in people’s backyards, Ryan noted.

“If the immunization rates fall in any one of those areas, we start to see those diseases creep back in,” said Ryan, a clinical associate professor who is co-chief of the college’s Department of Pediatrics.

Not necessarily Covid related, there has been a persistent problem in this regard. Note the higher rates in the early '90s.

I have several friends who claim to have Long Covid. One is so hard pressed she even formed a support group. Of course none of these ever tested positive. They just KNOW they had it. It’s called psychogenic illness.

If they had tested positive, would you have bought it or would you have thought they were ridiculous for falling for the fake test for a virus that doesn't exist?
