As bad as our D was, why a 10/8 Off/Def ratio in portal at present? Throw in NFL and Kitna and it goes to 15/9.
The portal opened today. Do players need to find a home in ~30 days so they can be enrolled for spring semester and participate in spring practice? If so, "portal season" is going to be insane.
I heard on the radio today that Georgia took 0 players from the transfer portal last year. Not sure if true, but that tells me they have done a great job with recruiting, evaluating and developing talent. I hope we can get there some day, or close to it.
Also.."go be great" Orrrrrrr, maybe fans should just encourage players to persevere and stay. Or take advantage of other aspects of your scholarship....
They took a QB from USC one year, a TE from LSU, but good point they not much needed with top 5 classes. They lose more in portal than they gain. Build through HS ranks and have for greater number of years
So many tweeners on this roster that never filled out their frames. On another note, why is Kamar Wilcoxson listed on post #3 as in the portal and as dismissed? Did I miss him being dismissed?
I don't understand when the players/coaches have to make a decision to ensure the player is eligible for spring practice. There has to be a cut-off date, right? That would mean most of these portal players will sign sight-unseen because there isn't time for a courting period (bowl prep, holidays, early signing day, high school recruiting visits, etc...). It sure seems that portal season is destined to make a lot of mistakes.
Add Bowman and Summerall to the portal. Burney, Dean, and Miller have used all their eligibility. I think that gives us 29 bodies having left or leaving as of 12/6/22.
