Yes, but 3 or the 4 are starters on the offense. I wonder if Pearsall will play, and stay one more year. I sure hope so.
If I were to guess, many of these bowls might end up at the beginning of the season at some point. Sort of like how these basketball invitations tournaments are. They'd suck to attend in the heat, but there's way more interest at the beginning of the season.
This is an argument for reducing the number of bowl games and increasing the criteria for an invite. In 1985, the year I graduated UF, there were 18 bowl games. A Google search lists 43 bowl games this year.
Doesn’t matter. Who cares? This is more about giving the inexperienced, some experience. It’s more about getting us ready for week 1 in SLC.
So you have Shorter who was out against FSU. You have Torrence who has a backup, and AR who had a 50% chance of sucking. On defense you have Dexter who hasn’t said if he’s playing or not. I don’t see the big deal.
The only real loss I see is maybe Dexter. I’m not counting the quarterback because we knew that was coming. All these other players will have a negligible effect.
Gators DL Gervon Dexter Enters NFL Draft (msn.com) Actually, that just references the NFL, not the bowl game, so maybe Im wrong. We will see.
Don't knock freshman football. First gator game I attended was when my dad took me to a JV game in '68 (freshmen weren't allowed to play varsity back then). A few months later some adults were discussing whether Jack Ekdahl or Larry Rentz would be the starter the next fall. I told them that some guy named Reaves would beat both of them out.
Lol... wrong Torrence. The offensive lineman Torrence is a first round pick in the NFL draft. Shorter could have been the difference in the FSU game, he does NOT suck. He too will get drafted, as will AR15. That's 3 draft picks from our offense, as I stated, that we will miss.
