  4. If we compare AR to the QBs in the transfer portal, and the rules allowed them to join the team in time to play in the Las Vegas Bowl (which I doubt), DJ Uiagalelei ranks slightly below AR in most stats (Passer Efficiency Rating, Quarterback Rating, Predicted Points Added, or Expected Points Added). Ideally we would grab higher ranked QBs like Drake Maye, Sam Hartman, Grayson McCall, Michael Pratt. Austin Reed from Western Kentuck/ West Florida would be an interesting grab, since he is from Saint Augustine, FL.

    PPA:
    1. Drake Maye, UNC 272.62
    2. Sam Hartman, WF, 196.65
    3. Grayson McCeall, Coastal Carolina, 166.18
    4. Anthony Richardson, Florida, 165.95
    ...
    6. DJ Uiagaleilei, Clemson, 119.99

    Passer Rating:
    1. Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina, 187.70
    ...
    14. Anthony Richardson, Florida, 133.60
    ...
    16. DJ Uiagaleilei, Clemson, 125.20

You can underestimate the value of experience. This guy has been in the trenches against top ranked teams- Miller, Rashada and Lagway have done nothing. They might have better upsides, but having an experienced QB on roster would give him an edge that might scare Rashada away.

I would rather play an inexperienced QB than take a chance on losing Rashada.

Rashada has already shown volatility and Lagway has to be leaning towards Oklahoma since it is his last visit. And he is not in this class anyway.

Miller should be ready, surgery was 3 months ago and was expected to be ready at the 6 week mark.

Back up is high 4/5 star Klubnick. I’d be glad too.

He doesn’t make us better BUT we cannot worry about guys that aren’t here. I’d worry About:
Winning next year and grabbing the best QB available that fits us regardless of how many years he has left as we need to win next year as 6/6 6-7 won’t be acceptable.

Not getting blown out in bowl game. Regardless of what you think bowl game is or isn’t, perception matters and finishing a season once again losing our last several games is bad.

No thank you on DJ. But if Napier can get Klubnik to see the light and get away from Clemson I would be thrilled.

This is like posters that want fired coaches to come back and be coordinators. Stupid.

Just like signing a player at the trade deadline to make the team a little better for the playoffs.

Theoretically, a player could transfer and play in the championship game for a new team if their school's spring semester starts before the 9th. I could even see it being a real possibility, consider this scenario- top team hires a new DL coach before the season, in their conference championship game they lose a starter to injury but still make the playoffs, at the end of the year he talks to one of his old guys who was already finished playing and has him grad transfer over in December and gives him some playing time on the big stage.

It doesn't even need to be a playoff game, since the CFP started there have often been little bowls between the first round and the championship game. If your team is 6-6 and playing in the lending tree bowl, and you have the opportunity to snag a quality player from a team that is finished playing, wouldn't you be willing to let someone like Andre Carter II or DeWayne McBride come and play for you with only 15 practices to figure out your system? What if your kickers were struggling and someone like the next Adam Viniateri (undrafted free agent signing from South Dakota State) reached out and asked if you would take him as a transfer for your January bowl game so he could show the NFL he was for real?

Terrible for the players and the fans, but I could see a desperate coach doing it.
