I just saw that. What I think we need to know is, which players will be available for this bowl game?
I honestly don't see any way on God's green Earth that the administration will fire Billy for anything short of gross personal misconduct (which isn't going to happen) before giving him at least four full years to show tangible results - nor should they.
You know what gets coaches fired the fastest? Its not the fans and boosters screaming and the message boards on fire...its fan apathy. If we are sitting (or not sitting ) in the stands in year 3 and they are only 66% full, BN will be gone.
I mean I can't discount it...can you? I certainly hope like hell it doesn't, but it should have for Lumpy. They brought him back for a fourth year when he should have been canned. The stands were empty and so was the recruiting class...it was ugly with a capital U.
To be honest, anything is possible, I just don't see it happening. But I can certainly respect your concerns, without necessarily sharing them - at this early juncture anyway.
Sorry...just trying to illustrate my point of why Napier and the team can't take a step backward in terms of tangible results in years 2 and 3 from what occurred in year 1. We don't have to like it, but I think as a rational observer of the UF fanbase and administration that a result that none of us want could occur. Take a step back in Year 2 from Year 1 and the pressure becomes immense....
I don't disagree in principle; I just really don't see it happening. But I have been wrong before, so...
Well, we're going to be younger next season...I don't know how the rosters around the SEC are shaping up (lots of # issues due to covid year, just like us)....but I'd say get ready to not see progress next season from a W-L standpoint, unless we just crush the portal and get AN ELITE QB.
20-21 already declared they're leaving via the transfer portal or for the NFL and one dismissed. About halfway where it's going.
