This is terrible news even though we kind of expected it. Nothing like leaving your teammates and fans hanging. I wish Him well but damn the agents and sports commentators who encourage players to leave early. No loyalty anymore to anyone but themselves.
Can’t disagree. Go back and look at the tape of the USF and Kentucky games. Compare his body language there to post-game UT, Vandy, LSU, and F$U. A poor performance wrecks him more than a loss.

I wish him well and thank him for his efforts. For me, his play on the field was not what I had envisioned...primarily related to lack of utilization of his God-given athletics abilities...whether by choice (his) or design (coach) or injury. Given that I feel it's best that both parties move forward. Now we need to find a QB.
This season was marked by several poor performances, or at least inconsistent ones. Maybe I’m still stuck in an obsolete mentality, but I just don’t see what or who would make him think he’s NFL-ready. I certainly don’t wish him any bad fortune in the matter, but this strikes me as a Will Hill-level head scratcher.
He might get on a team. Not a first rounder or maybe even 5th, but win another Natty and someone might bring him in, stranger things have happened.
I wish him well,but i think he got some bad info from his agent. Cant see him being better than a 4th rounder. Someone will take a flier on him as a project. Then again, mabey he will change positions in the pros.. Freak athlete
A udfa going to hold a clipboard for a few years is a little different than a guy expecting to go in the top couple rounds. He’s a bad example for your argument.
I have zero doubt that AR will get drafted. He's got way too much physical talent for somebody not to take a change on him. My concern for him is will any team seriously be willing to spend a first round pick on a QB who has a sub 55% completion percentage and hasn't really proven he can read defenses even at the college level? There haven't been too many NFL QBs that made it on just raw physical skills. Some team might pick him in the 1st round, but I think they'd probably be making a big mistake.
Like I said weeks ago . . . this answers a lot of questions for me. I'm not sure what unparalleled athletic ability brings to the table if a QB doesn't use it for whatever reason. Also the completion % is low . . . so does a team gamble a high pick on a project? We'll see. Regardless, I wish him the best too!
Agree with everything you wrote except your expression of zero doubt on him being drafted. I think he will probably be drafted, probably in a late round. But I think he has a higher chance of going completely undrafted than being drafted any higher than 4th round.
I always thought as a Gainesville kid the appeal of going to the NFL might be tempered a bit but I totally get it. He's an extremely talented player and is a class act through and through. Lots of teams will give him a good hard look just based on that. I'd like to see him play in an offense like Seattle. They have Geno Smith for a few years but it's a run heavy offense that is pretty qb friendly in that there isn't a ton of pressure to make passing plays or carry the team on your arm.
Time will tell. Typically an NFL team is going to expect a first round pick to be a starter or at least a contributor in the first year. QBs by year 2. I can't see any NFL team expecting AR to meet that criteria. I think round 2 and even round 3 picks are basically expected to fill roles immediately. I could see AR going possibly very late second day but more than likely I think early third day. Basically a team that has filled it's immediate needs and maybe has the luxury of being able to take a chance. Once you get past round 3 or 4, most of the players are basically projects. I would think AR would be pretty attractive by round 4. I think we're on the same general page, but I don't think there's much doubt that some team will be willing to spend a pick just based on physical talent.
