Like bama, this is a great and I do mean great recruiting tool. It's a reason why they will constantly be in the top 3 of recruiting. Good players goal is to be in the nfl and see schools like bama and uga of getting them there. We have to get to that place.
That comment about Kirby was not a good game day Coach is disingenuous. He has lost 3 games in 3 seasons ??? Come on man , that was bs !
Yes, but not enough of one to survive a bad day. Georgia could have a bad day and still beat them by 4 TD's.
I dont get this continued denigration of UF wanting to be a top academic school. After all that is what the #1 purpose of a university should be imo. There is no reason you cant do both (Michigan) and I dont think weve shortchanged anything, just some very bad hires.
Michigan hasn't won a National Championship since 1997 (and it was shared with Nebraska). Our alumni and fans demand more than that. Students, I'm not so sure anymore. They were watching Sesame Street when we were winning titles. In the SEC, there is concrete proof that you can't have both, Top 5 academic school and champion in the top 2 revenue sports. Bama and Georgia both know that and the results show it year in and year out.
The influx of cash to pay for the facilities upgrade and Napier's demands for increased staffing and recruiting budget had to get signed on from somewhere. I also have some hope that President Sasse actually appreciates the importance of our traditions, when it involves football and basketball. He has seen what has become of his home state school and can't be happy about that. Let's hope he is an upgrade over the last two Presidents.
Michigan is big 10 champs and in the football final 4, not good enough? The SEC is not exactly the bastion of academic excellence, so not sure that bama and lsu winning football titles proves anything, except maybe that organized cheating pays. Georgia is now considered a top 20 public university, btw. I guess that football prowess hasnt exactly helped the rest of their sports programs tho as their basketball and baseball teams still suck.
Over the years, their record would be considered unsatisfactory to most UF alumni and fans. One National Championship in 25 years and repeated losses (8 consecutive, 17 out of 24) to their most hated rival. Even the Michigan fans were getting sick of it until the last two years. I stand by my opinion. If you want to win the SEC and play for National Championships, you better be serious about football and not worry so much about being the Yale of the south. Leave that to Vandy.
I think you guys are 16th or something, which is fine. That's not that far off. Instead of worrying about being a top 5 school academically, you went balls to the wall to be the best you could be on the field and you did it. I'm pretty sure that you will agree that our administration dropped the ball, neglected the program and you all took full advantage. We're years behind you now.
Brock Bowers makes Georgia's offense go. Take him off the field and Bennett, Mc Conkey and the rest of their offense won't be as good by a decent amount. He's similar to Kyle Pitts in that he's an extreme mismatch that basically no one has found a way to stop yet.
Michigan's record sounds a lot like Georgia's over the last 25 years to me. I see no reason you cant be good at both academics and sports and I stand by my opinion also.
Top 5 academically, no way. Georgia is at 16, I'd be happier there with a program that is good as they are...now.
