I’d have thought we would represent better, at least offensively. Are we not one of the better teams in points per possession?
So all of the teams in quadrant three are going to have a rough go. I'm guessing Florida is the uppercase F in the blue circle. Since jacking up more shots to increase points probably isn't an option, should the importance of good shot selection be something to work on?
Right now Florida is 36th in the country in raw PPP, something they just jumped a ton in after the FAMU and Stetson games. In terms of adjusting for quality of opponent defenses, Florida is 70th in adjusted offense on Barttorvik when you take out the preseason expectations.
We have definitely increased possessions, but our efficiency within those possessions hasn’t been terrific, probably because of our inexplicably poor 2 pt shooting. We get lots of shots at the rim, but miss too many of them.
I don’t know exactly what it is, but I am pretty sure that it has something to do with the Payroll Protection Act, a/k/a the PPA.
I think we're showing a little better on the bunny shots now. Teamrankings.com puts us at 36th in offensive efficiency, and 83rd in defensive efficiency. So that should put us in that upper right quadrant, more or less.
We defended it pretty well against Stetson, which has some good shooters. I'll be pulling for Donny Jones to win the A-Sun.
You must not be very old. PPP is sort of an affliction for us oldsters at night. It isn't fun, but you learn to live with it. Well, unless you take the Magic Herbal Remedy!
