The company has ties to North Korea, Forbes reported, and was the only South Korean company allowed to operate a business in North Korea in the mid-1990s. Trump may have skirted disclosure laws and not committed an outright violation because the loan was on the books of his company, the Trump Organization, and not identified as a personal loan, Forbes noted.
So, the Trump org had a loan with a South Korean company, which they paid off 5 months into his term, but the letters to Un were for reduced interest on a loan from a South Korean firm? Pretty bad start to the week for the daily Trump hits. Speaking as someone who doesn’t care much for Trump, I can confidently say you can do way better than this.
the south korean firm had direct links with North Korea. They were the only firm allowed to operate in N. Korea. Do you think that kind of privilege came without strings or would you just prefer to ignore the link? Just because the firm was registered in South Korea does not mean it wasn't under the control of N. Korea as N Korea rarely is involved in anything that they do not control

Daewoo, the company that Trump had the loan with, is a South Korean company. They according to this link have some affiliation with N Korea. I am unaware of this.
That does business in North Korea and may have very well made concessions to the North Korean government to do so. I'm not saying that Trump or the company did anything improper although it does create the appearance of impropriety.
You may be right. But even assuming the debt and satisfaction of same were lawful and ethical, the article alleges that the information was "hidden." IF that is true, it brings its own questions.
No more absurd than the narrative that Hunter Biden may have arranged a meeting between Joe Biden and a Chinese businessman in 2018 and said meeting constituted an improper influence on US policy with respect to China considering that there is no evidence that the meeting actually took place and back in 2018 the Republicans controlled the presidency and both Houses of Congress. I’m pretty sure I had a cheap Daewoo VCR way back in the day. Their wiki page says a corruption scandal pushed them into bankruptcy years ago. So the Daewoo we are thinking of might not technically exist anymore. Also sounds exactly the sort of company Trump would do business with!
Sounds like you are saying two wrongs make a right. If there are posters here making such loose assumptions/connections with Biden, they shouldn’t be doing that either. The way to combat absurdity is to not to normalize it.
I might imagine the CIA has a file on Daewoo and knows exactly what level of connection they have to N. Korea. and likely know who paid off the 20M loan. I also imagine the DOJ would solicit the same information if warranted.
