So, I am taking a page out of @bobbybaker86 book and bumping my own thread. lol This is updated as of 12/2, including the transfer of Wright. Current Roster - Scholly #: 72 Less: "current Seniors" 4 Plus: Incoming Class. 30 Total projected on Scholly 98 So, we know that 13 more must go...one way or another...if we're taking in 30. Assuming AR and Big O go pro, that's 11 more that won't be coming back for one reason or another.
Yes. There was an article on GC (I linked to it somewhere on this thread) that states we're taking about 30 in total. So, I am using that number for now.
I believe that Pitts was a Mac recruit that stuck; same with Trask and Toney. I do not agree that Mullen recruited well. He had some hits, but he left huge holes.
Maybe someone should tell our coaches about your revelation. Lol, j/k. Being snarky a bit. We also have the covid year/rule to consider. How does that all work into the 85 player limit.
Go ask our coaches. Or read the thread. Both can answer your question. Lol, j/k. Being snarky a bit. And sarcastic.
So when school starts next year, say August, that is when we have to have under 85 on scholarship? I know this has been answered many times on here but I get confused. lol. It feels like they are using new math to do these computations.
LMFAO, I did that same exact typo in a conversation with a female poster here once and we laughed for weeks about it.
The consensus on this board, based on links shared, is that we must be at 85 max at all times. The next influx of players will be in Jan, so at that time we cannot exceed 85. Then again for summer, then again for Fall.
I would grade Mullen’s recruiting as a “stopped clock”. Even it is right twice/day. As for getting down to 85, if I were Napier I would make the list of all redshirt and true Seniors. I would then make a subset of the ones that the fans in the stadium will look at each other and say “who?” on Senior Day. I would take that list down to Tigert and get them a new non-athletic scholly. I would then tell them that they are all welcome to stay on the team but will no longer be on football scholarship.
With NIL also there is possibility of great players not actually getting scholarships... unless there is some regulation on that, seems like a big loophole.
