It only matters when the records are the same. 2 losses in the SEC doesn't equal 1 loss in another conference.

ESPN has always had a big ten bias. Does no one remember when they lobbied for a Michigan OSU rematch for the national championship. Somehow we snuck in and destroyed OSU.

You are arguing for notre dame now? Please two losses in the sec probably means the sec team is better than a one loss team from any other conference.

    That is a bias attitude.
Using that logic, it should be
    UGA
    Michigan
    Tennessee
    Bama.

Every other conference must go undefeated to get in over a 2 loss SEC team.

A team with 2 losses can’t be better than a team with 1 loss, really?? Asking for a friend……

To his credit though, he gave us props and admitted he was wrong while being a pretty Gator friendly guy over the years.

An argument could be made those are the 4 best teams. If I was in charge it would be Georgia Michigan OSU and Bama. TCU played a joke schedule. So did Michigan and OSU for that matter.

TCU played a stronger schedule than all the other teams being mentioned. And an equal schedule to TN.
TCU played 5 ranked teams 4 of them in a row played 6 counting the CG. So they went 5-1 against ranked team Same for TN. No other school being mentioned played more than 3 ranked teams. Mich only played 2.
Edit Bama went 3-2 against ranked teams.

Whew, happy to see tcu in. I thought they might get bounced after their loss in favor of Bama.
Might get blown out, but Go Frogs!.

You are correct. Michigan and OSU played joke schedules. TCU may deserve to be in the game. OSU absolutely does not.

ESPN just showed what it would look like with 12 teams. WAY different and very exciting I think!

    I can't wait for 2024.

Hopefully in 2024, the teams that actually win their major conferences get byes. Otherwise I don't see the point of conference championship games.

Yeah. Exactly. They were showing it and Utah would be the #4 seed and get a bye this year.

    Also USCw in . . . UcheaT in . . . Clemson in.

Already done. Byes only go to the top 4 conference champs in the expanded playoff format.

This means Notre Dame can never get a bye unless they join a conference.

I found what I was talking about. This was on the ESPN Selection Show.

What it would look like this year with 12 teams:

I like this a lot better.
