Classic example of a guy that may learn some hard lessons when he's not playing where he thinks he deserves next season....and no we mainly thought you looked slow and dropped a ball vs vandy lol
Well, that's under the assumption he's leaving for a "better" school. He's likely downgrading schools in exchange for more playing time. All good if that's the case. I am pretty sure he knows this.
yea if you're a 5* kid and transfer after a year even as a bench warmer, you're still seen as a hot commodity. Now anything outside of a top 200 kid who transfers out with limited film, you're def downgrading to a mid to lower tier P5 school or non P5 of FCS
I certainly don't condone harassment of a guy because he chose to leave, but honestly, what does he expect? Nothing but well wishes? I recently left one job for another and it was pretty obvious which one of my co-workers were happy for me and which ones took my leaving as some sort of personal insult.
I don’t think Whitt was pushed out. I think he was pushed down the depth chart by a better player, but he would have gotten plenty of pt at the end of the season if he hadn’t quit.
i agree. He did NOTHING better than Travis McGriff 2.0 I honestly dont understand the love affair with Whitt. He was modest/average. Yea he was sure handed but like…wasn’t going to make out passing O THAT much better had he gotten more PT
Gators have lost perspective. We need some Quezzie on the field to remind us what receivers look like.
Whittemore must have found out he was not in the plans early and knew he was portalling and wanted to preserve his year of eligibility, so we didn't see him much. I am fine with being pushed out with lack of time given to better players. CBN uses fewer receivers, and with the lack of quality in the receiver room, attrition had to be expected with more to come.
That would have made sense except his RS year has already been burned. There's no way he could've "preserved" a year of eligibility. A more likely scenario is a voiced disagreement with coaches perhaps about PT and BN was cleaning house of the noise makers so just gave him the choice. Whit chose to quit on this year's team. Either that, or he was complaining enough that BN basically told him to announce transfer intentions mid year so that he wouldn't get bad rap for getting kicked off the team.
He wasn't great. But our WR corps was ... thin, to say the least. He could have been a consistent down WR if he and Napier wanted.
