The 15 extra practices has been over blown for years. I want to see us use some young guys in these bowl games to see if they have any game
Will we have enough players? 11 in the portal, 6 or more will opt out. How many starters are left? But if we are going to depend on all new freshmen next year. It will be a long year.
If you have 25 scholarship kids portal or sit you still have 70 scholarship players plus walk ons. There will be plenty to play. Now there may be some inexperience and depth issues.....but that's not unusual, look at our WR situation vs Vandy and FSU
As long as they play and I get to see it with my own two eyes. Otherwise I have to read practice reports about Latroy Pittman killing it in practice <massive eye roll>
He’s not wrong and this is exactly what I think. Era of entitlement, instant gratification, etc. Nobody wants to work towards a starting job anymore. If they don’t start their first year they’re gone. But guess what, the numbers game is still the same. Many HS stars become college backups. Many college stars become NFL backups. There aren’t enough starting jobs for everyone.
Our most successful teams in basketball and football often relied on the contributions from kids that stuck it out and developed into key roles or even centerpieces. Hard to see that happening going forward in the current state of things
Gotta win and win big. Not many kids leaving UGA. More leaving Bama this year than normal due to subpar season.
Football is still 11 on 11. Wonder what a 17th string QB will think, do I keep my paycheck or go after playing time? Do I trust my 2nd QB coach or my 5th? This will literally make college football a bigger deal than the NFL, and a much bigger cluster-F. Why does the NCAA even exist?
Exactly, the reason the NCAA had to step in and stop Bear Bryant from having 213 players on his roster. CFB will be strictly ruled by billionaires. If a billionaire supporter of Vandy or Purdue decides nothing will stop me from having my team win a NC, he will literally pay 150 players 25 million each and 50 coaches 50 million a year each. Sounds completely bonkers, just like NIL, no scholarship limits, and no coach limits sounded back in the 90s. Already see Ruiz crapping money on da U, not long until another rich dude decides he wants to buy himself a NC.
The bowl game is on the 17th and today is the 4th. How do we get in the extra 15 days of practice to help next year’s team? Two-a-days?
