Biden hasn’t been perfect but he honestly had a remarkable 2 years given all the head winds and divisiveness in the country. Legislative accomplishments and has provided stable leadership with a return to normal international leadership role. The economy has defied odds and all the naysayers. I’m floored. I begrudgingly voted for him as he was 5th on my list of Dems.

Newt is right:

President Biden "has carefully and cautiously waged war in Ukraine with no American troops." He just "had one of the best first term off-year elections in history."

 

He did manage to get the following laws passed through Congress: a major infrastructure bill, a bill protecting marriage equality, a gun-safety bill, and a bill that addressed climate change and allowed Medicare to negotiate drug prices. I'm not a huge Biden fan, but he has actually delivered a surprising amount of legislative achievements, considering the very small majority in Congress and how at odds the parties are.

 

I've been hearing how smart Gingrich was for 30-40 years. But he's just seemed another extreme partisan to me. Yes, he does begrudgingly give Biden some credit for being successful, but other than Ukraine, it's really all his typical negative whining.
He's basically saying that Biden has gotten away with being awful. That's not praise.

He says Biden has been effective (I agree) and he’s been terrible for Republicans (I agree). Seems right on to me.

 

I think this is often an issue with those on the left. They will become uninterested in the mainstream candidate and prefer a more full throated liberal. But sometimes the mainstream candidate can actually get more done than a more left wing candidate.

We’ve arguably lost 2 elections since 2000 due to a small faction being more attracted to liberal shiny object independent candidates (Nader and Jill Stein)

Quite honestly that is an impressive list.

 

I'm much, much happier than I was under the last President.

 

This is really what is boils down to for me. Biden has some glaring weaknesses. But I go days, sometimes weeks without thinking of Biden. I appreciate that after getting trolled daily by a narcissistic toddler for 4 years.
