Apparently someone as vile as Alex Jones even has limits. It's a very faint line, but a line nonetheless.
Yep, for any negatives ones can note about Elon Musk, he does appear to be trying to help humanity at every turn with environment-friendly cars, space travel and these brain chips to help the disabled communicate with their loved ones.
I'm not questioning his motives on the neurolink stuff, but it's interesting. People are already stressed about AI being able to manipulate us. It would be interesting to see how many of us would willing to have something put in our brains if it meant we could learn really cool things in a short time. I might risk it to become a lot smarter, but I can see a potential dark side to it as well. Seems almost inevitable, though maybe not in our lifetimes.
He's selling rubes like you a fantasy of things that will never be truly delivered, burning through billions of dollars in the process that could be put to better use to help people now. And all the neurolink think has done is kill a bunch of test monkeys.
Dean Baker suspended. Absurd. There is no possible justification. No way he violated any real rule or term. This is just letting the stupid right-wingers take over. I know that's didactic. Supposedly it was temporary, after he criticized Musk. Just ridiculously stupidity
Sounds like it's turning in to Truth Social... One of their stated rules is that you can't criticize their owners, management, or the site itself ... Cuz freedom of speech, and all ...
Republicans love him but don’t know any of his music. Liberals know his music and think he’s a wacko.
Dean Baker is a wonk economist. He may be to the left, but he's like if conventional public policy commentator. It's just stupid. I know this guy is supposed to be a genius but everything he does of late makes him look like a complete idiot. And one that does bad stuff
Given how you respond to literally everything I write here, I guess it's fair to say I've built a hotel inside your head with your money.
Asking a celebrity in an interview "You're not a Nazi, You don't deserved to be called that an Demonized?" seems like an impossible question to screw up answering ...
I’ve read this entire thread since it was started and I am completely confused about why a certain group of people gives two squirts about what an individual does with a company they bought with money they earned. If you dont like Musk/Twitter how does it bother someone so much?
You may want to click on the link below and the piece was actually written over six years before Musk took over the platform. Here's Why Twitter is so Important, to Everyone Or this The Importance of Twitter in Open Science and Scientific Communication Or this Analysis: Why Elon Musk buying Twitter is such a big deal - CNN I would add that in the longer run one or more other social media platforms will replace the role(s) that Twitter is performing if it really does lose credibility under Musk and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that Elon Musk could turn Twitter into another footnote in the history of social media much like MySpace.
