Hater is a little over the top, but Mark doesn’t seem to realize that these kids don’t want to be treated like side shows.
I appreciate Wise. He has strong opinions and often right on the mark. Maybe he missed Klatsky's 3 earlier in the year.
We are going to need Bonham to consistently make that 3 ball the rest of the year...obviously 7 for 7 is not to be expected but if he can make 4 out of 7 each game that should help open things up for Colin
I went to the game and enjoyed it for the most part. Clearly FAMU was overmatched and were facing a team shooting really well. Golden said we were shooting the cover off the ball but isn't that a mixed metaphor form baseball? Hitting the cover off the ball? IIRC we hit our first eight shots and a number of them were 3-balls. Bonham was en fuego from three inclusing the DEEP three at the end of the first half. Did he even graze rim on any of them? I am concerned about our rebounding. Fudge was pretty good but it seemed like we got outworked with determination and grit by a FAMU team that knew they were going to lose and still gave a lot of effort on the glass. Tip of the hat to them.
Great assessment of the game. Fudge as a reserve was fresh legs and FAMU got worn down. Fudge is very quick and he hit the three in the second half. When we play teams like Tennessee, they are physical with physical depth, we have to get better at blocking out. I am proud, after Fudge came out tentative, he might not ever get aggressive, but he started feeling it and took it to them. Jones looked better on defense and shooting. These two are going to have to be aggressive with the physical teams we will play. Hopefully kugel will get better knowing when to shoot, drive or dish, plenty of talent, just needs to slow down to the team concept and play within himself, a very good player who will just get better as the year progresses. As for Tre Bonham, seven for seven on threes, all Net, even FAMU was stunned! Go Gators keep working!
I’m serious. How can you be so sure that the players are concerned about what the announcers say about them?
I actually was not serious, but I thought I could suck you into thinking that I was. Good job in not taking the bait.
Castleton Reeves Kugel Richard Lofton My starting 5 for now, a long play looking toward March. Probably too early on Kugel and Reeves but great potential. Lay it on them and see how they handle it ov erhte next few weeks. Kugel is still a wildcard and we need to see consistency from Reeves but I like the way he slowed it down a bit and let the game come to him. Hopefully Kugel will take note. They both need to become consistent from outside. Their outside in game development will be fun to watch. I waffle on Bonham and Lofton but like Bonham coming off the bench early to inject energy, speed, and points. However if Bonham keeps solid from 3 and the line he will be hard to sit. Fudge as first frontcourt off the bench for energy and size.
Lurker clearly violated posting standards when typing the words “mixed metaphor” in his post response above. No conjunction, prepositions, or other English grammar terminology allowed.
