LL needs to attend a school with a very thin RB room. Needs max exposure & game reps. Gots lots to make up.
Pretty amazing Mullen got two very high 5 star RBs in that looked to be the steal of the portal and both Bowman and Lingard are moving on now.
The transfer portal pretty much ensures no backups ever finish their 4-year careers. Makes every player believe they are destined for a starting job and a professional career afterwards.
Good for him. He represented us well, even though he was a 5 star never getting PT. Had all the reasons to constantly bitch on Twitter or something like that. I wish him well, hope he can get big PT wherever he goes
That's what I was thinking when he committed. Great skill set but not a burner by SEC standards. Speed seems like price of admission for WRs with Billy. Could you elaborate?
Or maybe a kid just wants to get some PT and enjoy their last season. Nothing wrong with that. Sr's that are going to ride the pine are bad for schools too...They'd rather open up that slot for someone else that could be developed. This is good for both parties involved. All good IMO.
Also, this virtually confirms in my eyes that we are taking 2 rb this year, we must be very confident about the former OSU rb
I agree somewhat, but there will always be 2nd or 3rd tier guys that will only ever see the field if the 1st or 2nd tier guys go down. The quality of the 2nd or 3rd tier could vary wildly and is probably what you infer with the "developed" reference. IMO developing someone speaks more to the mental and technical part of the game, not the physical talent. I would think that eventually a Senior would be as developed mentally (technique, knowing the scheme, etc.) as they are capable of and could still remain a second tier guy due to physical limitations. Wouldn't you prefer that over a younger player who is neither developed mentally nor physically gifted enough to beat out a1st tier guy? Not to mention the maturity and leadership a locker room with Juniors and Seniors could bring. Just bored at work....
