Agree it has to make it to LOIs. Currently we are (I believe) top 10 or even top 8 on commits right?

You don’t really think a guy could’ve walked into how Mullen recruited and really expected immediate top 5 classes do you? That plus we were decades behind on facilities, with finally getting the Heavener center just opening 3 months ago.

I think it all happens in due time. And everyone wants immediate results nowadays.

Address what? Like firing some staff members mid season? …or did I miss a transfer portal season? What exactly are you looking to be addressed mid season?

Napier has t ok I start thinking about AR’s replacement. That is the major focal point going forward!

Interestingly enough Kitna is probably the front runner because unlike so many other QBs and players, his life is already set.

he will play with less pressure on him and because of the fun of the game.

What were you expecting that was within reason? Is it mainly the W-L record you are upset about?

I certainly think CBN could have done better.
If we were hiring for 2022 only then it was disappointing.
He's not Spurrier, he's not Meyer, he's not even Brian Kelly.

BUT- if you view him as project, as a guy with potential, I absolutely think he will grow into the job.
Even better, I think he knows how to build a team that we at UF can be proud of.
    (Not the mess Meyer left.)

    Just my take...

Even before BN was hired I remember Strickland making the comment of finding a coach that would have “sustained success” or similar words.

Meaning - administration knew there wasn’t a quick fix. He wanted someone with a plan (which by all accounts that is BN). The way BN handled off season seemed to be the right steps … building the HS football relationships, getting into IMG, etc.

Other places were different. LSU never slept on recruiting. They needed new leadership … that’s Kelly - like him or not he’s been doing this a long time with really good results everywhere. I bet EdO was just over his head and once he lost some key assistants had no idea or plan.

UF was different when Meyer got here. Zook had recruited the whole roster pretty well.

I’m with everyone that we should’ve been better than 6-6. Unfortunately I don’t think there was a quick fix option.

I'm sure there's some coach somewhere that would've had this team at a better record than 6-6 this year, but that should almost never be the goal when you're hiring someone.

Like Stricklin said, "sustained success." We want somebody to build a system that will keep Florida competitive to Florida standards over time. People say that's championships every other year. I'd say that means performing well against rivals, winning give or take 10 games per year, and competing for conference titles once every 3-4 years. And I think most fans would tolerate even 2 of those 3 provided that the results appear sustainable long-term. If recruiting takes a nose dive, different story.

"Sustained success." BINGO, Homerun! What we got with Billy Napier. Doing things the right way, no shortcuts, recruiting-recruiting-recruiting, AND ZERO tolerance of program cancers (no matter the talent).

This WILL culminate in an NCAA Title.

Let’s call it as it is:

He’s the best recruiter, with the losingest record

Hopefully he can fix that title

Georgia always recruited really well. Always. Nape is dealing with a bucket of ‘hidden gems’
