Snipping at each other, calling peeps lazy, mods getting into it with a few who wish to go negative, bashing a coach in his 7th game??

You certainly are entitled to your opinions and Lord knows that was a pathetic game to watch as a Gator :)

Hopefully the players and coaches aren't doing the same thing on our first road trip and flight home!! If so this team will certainly implode on itself.
Transfers coming in, playing time, loosing, no fight, new coaching staff, new staff in general...
This is a Lot for any program during any time period of basketball history!! No matter the portal day's that are upon us!!

Give the team time to define themselves as every good coach admits it's the players that make it work in the end.
Give yourselves time to grow with this team as well ;)
I've been on winning teams and loosing one's on the hard court.... This team defines itself starting right now!!
If they act like this board did last night, this thing is a Miami football dumpster fire program for certain!!

    Go Gators!!
Pick yourselves up as young men with pride would!!

Thanks @hotelgator . . . Last night was a tough game but no excuse for some of the negativity we've already seen in other MBB Game Threads. It was way over the top in football. I can assure @hotelgator and others we admins are discussing the negativity right now.

Man I think a 30 point beatdown by an unranked team is a fairly good reason for some negativity if you have any drive in you at all. This place is going to be very quiet this season if you start muzzling fans who are voicing very real concerns about the team. I agree that some are over the top, but some are way too full of rainbows and unicorns for my taste as well. I thought Gators had thick skin. We should all be able to take some criticism, especially the people who are getting paid for what they are doing. This includes the coaches, the players, and the media. The fans are the only ones here 100% for the love of the team, and even we are not above some criticism.

    Just my 2 cents.

That said, FAMU is new mowed grass! We don't lose to teams from Tallycrappy!

    GO GATORS!

We'll get a good test next week when undefeated UCONN comes to town. Hopefully, we can work out the rough edges with wins over the next 2 and at least show improvement next week. Damn tipoff is 9 PM.

The game against West Virginia and our overall play so far this season have been shocking to say the least. Pre-season, it looked like we would have a nationally ranked team that could be in the upper echelon of the SEC. We had a bright young coaching staff, and a roster that went at least 11 deep with about 6 possible pro prospects. Post-PK, Ken Pom has 10 SEC teams ranked ahead of us, CC is no longer an NBA prospect and Kowacie Reeves’ Gator career might be over. I haven’t been saying much lately, but our hoops fans ought to be talking about this.

It's an interesting phenomenon on boards that AKA has brought up a few times as well - posters come out of the wood-work to comment and complain when we're losing yet when we win those same posters are nowhere to be found. If we're not playing well just don't post rather than coming here solely to vent.

No one wants to hear constant complaining. There's already enough of it in this world without having to hear it here - and we're talking about 18-23 year olds. They're going to make mistakes.

I seriously hope this doesn't turn into an event like the 2nd half against Duke out west several years ago. Gator hoops never seemingly recovered from that collapse. This moment is huge for CTG in that he needs to rally the team and keep motivation up.

We need to worry about FAMU and Stetson first. This team isn't good enough to just show up and win.

FAMU should be a laugher. Stetson could be competitive, but they don’t have any size. An interesting thing about FAMU is that they played a bunch of teams that were in the PK events. They have losses to Oregon, Oregon State and Portland.

It seems some of the posters that are the most negative, were also the biggest Mike White supporters. I expected that would happen this year when we lost. And if Georgia wins a big game, it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s also posted about on this board. Just sayin’.

I can't think of a better way to ruin a basketball season than complaining about how bad the players and coaches are. It's ruined the past four years for me. It's one thing to notice play like poor foul shooting, lacking defense, rebounding, etc. You don't have to like it. But, when you start trashing or marginalizing players and coaches it's not doing anyone good, not even yourself.

That was weird because it seemed like we were a high scoring final 4 contender up until that collapse, after which the team had putrid offense the rest of the season. We went from a team that seemingly could put up 100 points vs. anyone to one that struggled for 70… and remained that way basically the rest of White’s tenure.

I don’t think we have to worry about such an “inflection point” with Golden, as we aren’t ranked and already had losses (including 1 bad loss) already under the belt. He’s only 7 games in and at no point have we looked particularly great (maybe 1 half vs. FSU and the game vs. OSU).

Right now I’m just wondering if his X’s and O’s need to catch up to the so called analytics. Analytics don’t matter much if you are simply getting dominated. The offense has a bit more flow than White, which makes it at least “watchable”, but that defense… dayum we are bad there. It’s stops being a fluke when seemingly every team is shooting the lights out or doing what they want on offense.

It's gotten worse lately. It started with football and after basketball it will move to baseball. I think there are some posters that enjoy the drama of stiring things up when we lose and then disappear when we win.

no doubt at this stage - it's about X's and O's and the jimmy's and joe's vs an over emphasis on analytics besides normal basketball statistics.
worry about analytics come march, but analytics mean nothing when you are getting blown out by an unranked team.

It is odd when you rarely see posters suporting the Gators beforehand but one does see them during game threads or after (especially if UF loses).

Sometimes some posters get too negative but just seeing everything with orange and blue glasses isn't good either. Wow, we only lost by 30 what a great game. Isn't the purpose of this board is to share our opinions and debate issues? I wasn't a While supporter but now I wonder if we made the right decision. But I agree that this is going to be a long season and we need to give Golden another year. Right NOW is there a coach in the SEC that he is better than? Hopefully, next year we will be happy to have him.

You just contradicted yourself. "We need to give Golden another year" and then you go after him with "but now I wonder if we made the right decision" and "Right NOW is there a coach in the SEC that he is better than?"

is there? At this moment some are questioning the decision. Another we will have more data to make a logical conclusion

It’s what happens when you hang on to a coach way too long, and some of the same issues are plaguing the new coach..
