Usc will have a similar fate to Oregon if they get the chance. They just aren’t that good. I said as much about Utah before we played them. Top 4 my ass.

How can it not be a knock on our coach?? Because it’s not, by me, in any way, period. Damn I give up, this is ridiculous, I should’ve just goggled it..

Problem is, they are probably better than Utah and will beat them in the rematch.

Maybe a little but not enough to be top 4. Would they beat Bama or OSU?

What was your point? I would urge you to look at why you post that. It was from a place of lack. If you really felt Napier is our man, then post that. Not all the reasons he’s not. I’ll be done. JS

No but I’d rather see them than OSU.

I can’t stand inferior teams getting in. Notre Dame comes to mind.

That’s why we need the SEC to win.

I would love Georgia to get their ashes handed to them but Michigan, Bama-, and osu are the teams that may have a chance, not usc. Winning a crap conference shouldn’t be a ticket to the party.

Michigan and UGA, but anything can happen. UGA hasn’t played anybody surprisingly

JHC Tommy, please go read my first post in the thread. This is 100% just about TCU & USCw and their respective HC’s. It has nothing to do with Billy, at all. It was not a thread to post about why Billy is or is not our man, hence why I never mention Billy hey. If want to start a thread about that, have at it, I’m all in.

Now apologize, you’re smarter than this and should know better, I think.. :D

Oregon is their common opponent and we know how that went. Georgia is undefeated in the sec. Almost every team in the conference proved Albee to beat someone this year. We bunch of nobodies beat Utah. It’s just different. We lost sec games before we dominated our championship games against undefeated teams. I’m just not buying it that usc belongs.

I’ve reread 3x. I get your point. If you’re asking for reassurance on culture coaches being more successful long-term, you did a poor job at asking for it. It was a jab at our short term lack of success at the very least. It wasn’t a question about why certain coaches are successful early and why some coaches not and how that plays into the bigger picture.

Tommy are you drinking tonight?? There was no jab at our short term, i.e. this season, lack of success. Because it had nothing to do with us. It’s a remarkable story that these two teams are likely going to the playoffs. My only question was, how did they do it. Why didn’t you just give your opinion about that instead of trying to paint me as a Billy sniper? [sigh]

Haha I drink every night. I did both of giving my opinion of why and my opinion of your question. Glad to hear you’re not intending to bash our coach. I’m just relaying info on how this thread is about the haves and the have nots and we ain’t have crap. From the responses, I’m not the only one that feels that way.

    Bingo!!

USC this year should really be the USCO All-Star team.

I don’t care for Riley, but I will be his biggest fan if/when they play Georgia

You can't say Riley benefitted from the portal and then say Venables was set up to succeed. OU got pummeled by the portal -- losing two 5-star QBs, two top WRs, a top TE and a few OLs.They had a new OC, a new mediocre QB and no DLs that could be considered anything but small. And they still finished a pedestrian 6-6, enough to make a bowl game.

He is a great offensive coach and is a great recruiter. Has not won a National Championship.

Lincoln did a hell of a job in the portal. Add in a team (USC) that will also have talent no matter the coach or record and you have a recipe for success.

TCU plays good football, but with OU, OK St, and Texas down, they took advantage of a weakened Big 12. I’m someone who blames conferences, but that’s just the facts.
