I think culture has a lot to do with it and I think that's changing. I also think that with AR gone the culture takes a huge jump in the right direction. I don't see a player who is invested when I see him play. He should do the right thing for him and his family and take his talents to the NFL. I really believe our record would have been better this year had Kitna started.
Took Kirby 6 years too but Saban was a few plays away from playing in the NC game his 2nd year and won a National Title his 3rd? What's up with that?
None of those coaches started with the mess that had become Florida football. Alabama, OSU, UGA, and LSU ALL prioritized winning football championships over winning President’s Cups, even before making those hires. UF did not. UF had to learn the hard way that in college sports you have to feed the beast. Well, at least I hope they have finally learned that.
If they win any big games outside of the big 10 I'll be surprised. Your UGA example is actually a great illustration of my first point. UGA fired Richt after a 9-3 season despite him having the highest win percentage of any coach at the school, precisely because he couldn't win the big one. They hired smart and gave him some time. Guaranteed he'd be on the got seat right now had he not won it all last year.
UHHH.... do you anything about Alabama?? They will do ANYTHING TO WIN. There is nothing else there. What's up with your lack of awareness of this??
Alabama. Where are you from? New Jersey? The only thing the state of Alabama has is college football. I know; I have relatives there. That is all they care about, and they will do ANYTHING--literally- to win. So what's up with your ignorance about this fact? Only been following the SEC for two years?
Is the SEC better top to bottom than the Big whatever? For sure. But Urban Meyer's OSU team smoked the Gumps for a National title. Don't think it won't happen again. I think Michigan has a team to do it.
Well, therein lies the problem with the Harbaugh:Napier analogies. Harbaugh had a proven track record as an FBS and NFL coach. Napier doesn’t have that. So these Napier to Harbaugh comparisons are silly, because Napier has yet to prove he coach at the higher levels. I don’t know what the point of these analogies are if not just to say “anything is possible.” I mean, sure … anything is possible, but the reality is we are just going to have to sit back and wait to see if Napier is a good coach at the FBS level. So far we don’t have much evidence that he is. The Smart/Harbaugh/Saban comparisons are silly.
Urban has his flaws, but he is a damn good coach. Harbaugh too. Harbaugh and Michigan are on a mission.
Osu won a long time ago and Urbs only did it once. The got beat in the playoffs almost every other year. Michigan may be that team and Bennet isn’t great so they won’t get a better chance. If Oregon didn’t get boatvraced by the puppies and we didn’t beat Utah, usc may be getting talked up. Michigan may beat Georgia but I’ll believe it when I see it. What’s the sec champions record in tge last twenty year? It’s pretty darn good and Georgia beat the champ last year.
If you think Gator fans have high expectations, go look at the Bucknuts site - a good number of them are already compiling lists for their new HBC.
Georgia only played two teams in the top 25. Tenn And South Carolina. Michigan beat Ohio State in Columbus and Penn State who crushed Auburn at Jordan Hare
