No, there are simply too many of them. In my opinion bowl games should be either for the CFP or interesting matchups between two very good teams that don't play during the regular season. 9-3 should pretty much be the cut off.

Never understood who wants to watch two teams that barely went .500, especially when any good players they may have probably sit out. Other than fans or family members, but that can't be more than a few hundred thousand even for bigger teams.

Agree with most that our bowl is virtually a meaningless game. For that reason I vote for playing a P5 that Florida has never played to add to our historical football resume. Here are the schools the Gators have never line up against with similar records at 7-5/6-6 this season:
    Big 10- Wisconsin
    Big 12- Kansas, Texas Tech
    Pac 12- Washington State
ACC- played all schools at least once

Texas Tech just beat Oklahoma Even though they lost to Washington Huskies, Wash State looked like a good opponent. Kansas has resurrected their program (who would have given them a chance) and Wisconsin has just been bad this year but has a long tradition of smash mouth football

I agree with the sentiment that there are too many bowls. Maybe the rules should be modified so the sole reason for going to a bowl is to get 15 more days of practice. A "winter practice"?

If they are competitive, I'll watch the bowl games. There were several games last year that didn't mean anything in the championship picture but were fun to watch.

The 15 practices for this team is far more important than the result. Young guys need work to have a hope to turn the corner next season.

Rice got in this year at 5-7 cuz we didn’t have enough bowl eligible teams. Guess what the tiebreaker for this is? APR or Academic Progress Rate…you can’t make this up lol

I wouldn’t mind an instate bowl game again so it is cheaper to go to. I feel like Florida has played their way out of the Reliaquest and Gator bowls. Gasparilla wouldn’t be bad again.
If given the choice between Gasparilla or Birmingham I’d say Gasparilla.

  13. The good news is that I doubt the Gators will have many opt-outs for the bowl game. The bad news is that I doubt we many experienced players left after transfer portal season starts in the first week of December.

Yes sir!! Every game counts. So often now I hear, well that doesn’t mean anything or things like that and that concerns me.

Yes sir. Reward is a good word. Kids don’t realize but coaches do.
Should be healthy with at least 3 receivers back.
    Shorter
    Henderson
    And at least 1 of
    Burke
    Bowman

I would like to see the Music City Bowl (Nashville, TN):
Florida (SEC) vs Illinois (Big Ten).

Another one would be the Las Vegas Bowl to be matched up against Chip Kelly's UCLA Bruins. I think that would be a tough matchup for UF's defense and could be a shootout game!

Both good ones for sure. I know nothing official until Sunday but I’m pretty sure we know or are pretty sure where going by Wednesday. I still think Gasparilla is an possibility.
