It’s interesting. The OP question was “most famous GATOR TO GATOR FANS.” Not most important. So answers about SOS putting the Gators on the map do not necessarily translate to most famous. Outside football Jesse might be the most famous, but how many non-Gators know he went to UF. I’m guessing most Gators fans know all the names proposed and then some, so it probably morphs into “most favorite.” Also, these questions always seem to gravitate to football only. Other sports have generated some pretty famous people.
It feels like you don't understand the point of your own thread. You titled it "most famous" and then seemed to provide your "favorite" list......
Thanks for your insight Sherlock Famous with Gators fans was the idea .... Not with the American population. Now you can debate what constitutes famous I guess.
I don’t think people understand what famous means… I love Danny but to most of the country he’s a long time ago Heisman My rankings are a combination of name and face recognition by the most number of people (worldwide, America, or UF Alums….but not just UF alums that are huge football fans) 1. Tebow 2. Marco Rubio 3. SOS 4. Erin Andrews 5. Bob Vila 6. Emmitt Smith Then you got Wambach, Alonso, and Lochte Palmer and Collinsworth are in this tier Oh God I forgot about Dan Bilzerian. He’s way up there (unfortunately).
When people hear their Names: Emmitt=Cowboy Danny=Charity Spurrier=Old Ball Coach Tebow=Gator QB Just the way it is. We, as Gator fans, may think of each differently, but just the average football fan.
True, but your question was who is the most famous. Given all the love, hate, media circus, and current TV gigs, I think Tebow has attracted the most publicity in our current society
I get what you are saying. I think maybe I'm viewing famous differently than most. Maybe I should use a different word.
