This was adjusting ti yesterday, and we never did. Still, with this young team (only 2 seniors lost), we will be fine. This season is not lost, as the regionals will be announced next Sunday. Another reason to join the Gator Attack Club. We will be in the Heavener Football Center to watch the Selection Sunday Show with the team.
1. Mary Wise seemed flustered with the players at the end of the last game. It's as if the players weren't making the adjustments they were told to make. Hope that is not the case, but it sure seemed that way. She just waved her hands up in apparent disgust. 2. When UF sweeps Ole Miss, the Gators will be hosting at home the next weekend. With the record and SOS, the Gators will be in the top 16, say 12.
The Gator Attack Club had a reception for the seniors and the team. Mary, of course, would not say anything publicly, but she was not happy but gracious. Rhett and Marina were both asked about the different programs they came from. Rhett spoke of the level of training, facilities, and support. Marina went on a soliloquy about the differences, but also about the Florida program, that needs to be recorded and shown to every recruit. BTW, Rhett has a torn labrum and is going to try PT first in Texas. If that does not work, she will come back here for surgery. She wants to do private practice counseling. Another note: the reason the seniors did not receive framed jerseys is that they only have 4 sets and would not be able to wear that color again if they framed them. Hopefully, we will need those jerseys for a while. I don't know why this has not been true in prior years. They will receive them at the end of the season. Dr. Josh, who does the color with Tom Collette, spoke while we waited for the ladies to finish signing autographs. He is very knowledgeable and entertaining. He has a Ph.D. in exercise physiology or in some field that relates to that. He was talking about training and said the most important things in training are rest and recovery. Marina is going to play professional volleyball. Her dream team is VakıfBank Sports Club in Istanbul.

Gators in danger of blowing this after starting 2-0. I guess they don't want to share the SEC title with UK.
Agree, was expecting another 3 setter and it started that way. Lost focus I guess. Ole Miss court looks like a HS court compared to most I've seen on tv.
We'd sell-out every game if that were our venue. OTOH, they can brag that they have a dedicated facility that they do not have to share. It was interesting to see Riley Fischer again -- her hair is no longer purple. Speak of facilities, given the way the Miss court looked, I'm sure the rest of the facilities were a big come-down for Riley after being at UF. OTOH, you kinda have to respect the fact that she'd rather play and lose than win and sit on the bench. From the Ole Miss guide: "Appeared in all 30 matches, starting 11 of them ... Was one of two Rebels to appear in all 110 sets played."
Congrats, Gators! So, UF and UK both finish at 15-3 in conference. Does this mean it's a shared title, or is there some tiebreaker rule in effect? I keep seeing Gators referred to as the champion. I was never good at sharing.
It's a shared SEC Title, but both teams will rightfully claim to be SEC Champion. What is important is the UF has the tiebreaker with UK and is headed into the NCAA tourney as the SEC's #1 seed. It'll be our luck to draw Wisconsin in round 2. You think they would like to serve the Gators some revenge pie for that loss in Madison in front of the largest women's volleyball crowd ever? The question for UK who was ranked most of the year at #18 nationally is do they finish in the top 16 in the NCAA field giving them opening round matches in Lexington. Given the strength of the B1G and some of the other conferences, it will likely be very close for the wildcats to host in round 1 as the SEC #2 seed. The problem is that the SEC is not nearly as deep as the other conferences and UK did not do so well in their OOC play against the better teams as reflected in their early season record. We'll know all of the answers today when the NCAA field is announced.
I actually expected the 2nd match to be close. UF has had a difficult time playing the same team 2 days in a row under the China Virus scheduling. Fortunately, the SEC is moving back to normal scheduling starting in the 2023 season. Happy Days Are Here Again! JUDY GARLAND AND BARBRA STREISAND - Happy Days Are Here Again - YouTube
Although the SEC a doesn't have a tiebreaker and lets both teams claim the championship, UF will be listed as #1 and UK as #2 in all the record books. Softball had this in 2021 with Arkansas, but everywhere UF is listed as #1.
