GAME THREAD: (3) Michigan at (2) Ohio State, Saturday at Noon on Fox

Reminds me of another team.

 

That's a tough one. The criteria for the committee is a non-champ must be "unequivocally better" than a conference champ. So even though UGA has been better all year with a better record, if LSU beats them next week on a neutral field can you really say UGA is unequivocally better? If LSU loses today and carries three losses to Atlanta, then sure. Otherwise I think LSU goes above UGA, but UGA is so good they'll stay above USC and any other 1-loss team (including TCU).

That unequivocally better criteria is why I think TCU stays above tOSU if they win next week, unless they get blown out today. tOSU just lost at home by 3 touchdowns to Michigan without their Heisman candidate, plus tOSU's schedule isn't exactly loaded with quality wins especially if ND loses tonight.

 

Lol, it was when I posted this. Turned quickly. Michigan was patient with Harbaugh and it’s paying off.

 

BIG commissioner pimping for both of these teams to be chosen for the CFP.

 

I would love to see U.F. be patient and allow CBN enough time to turn this program around. We have to break out of this maddening cycle of win it all by year 3 or pay another massive contract buyout. We’ve wasted 25-30 million paying coaches not to coach the Gators and that’s just not fiscally responsible. Hopefully we give CBN enough time to rebuild this program even if there are some bumps along the way back to the top.

Agree 100%. Harbaugh's Michigan teams floundered for five years and he was on the hot seat big time. I think one of those years Michigan won only two games. Harbaugh took a pay cut, Michigan stayed with him, and now look at them. You have to be patient and give a coach time to build their program. Freaking out and firing coaches every three years is stupid, and pretty much guarantees long term failure.

Unfortunately, I do not believe Gator fans are smart enough or patient enough to recognize this.

 

Why would Urban be livid? This isn't his team.

I'd wager that he is far from livid, and in fact is gloating about how the bucknuts are falling apart now that his players are gone. He build a juggernaut, that sustained Day for a while, but now the party is over. I bet he has a big smile on his face thinking about how the bucknuts essentially ran him off and now the wheels are coming off.

 

Harbaugh is a lesson in patience. Granted, if Meyer never leaves Ohio State, he's probably gone.

 

Khaki pants finally has a really good QB, that’s a big boost.
