my son is there feeding me info, says we have been bothered by the Houston guards all game. We are a much bigger team then them. Also a lot of missed gimmes again today
We won 77-73... but what a terrible game. No broadcast, hard to follow, and a pretty lousy performance to be honest. That said they showed some fight cause I thought it was over with 2 to go in the 4th. We still rotate players more than I like, but it was a little better... My big concern is yet again no Myka and Taliyah AND for some reason looks like Jordyn quit getting minutes and wasn't in foul trouble. We lose her and Taliyah we are in some trouble down low.
Jordyn was loose with the ball today, she was making a lot of turnovers and throwing up bad shots. Exact words from 3 people I know who were there, she seemed to be in good spirits after the game. Myka had a procedure on her knee, the girl from Germany turned out to be a bust and was shipped back basically
2022-23 Women's Basketball Roster - Florida Gators Yep... she is already off the roster. We went from deep to 9 players way too fast.
Green Bay and Houston are our level right now. VERY lucky to go 2-0 down there. Those are not terrible teams but doubt we'll win many (any?) games in the SEC playing like this. Caught the radiocast of late 4th and OT while driving, it was exciting at least? Kelly mentioned in postgame that Jordyn wasn't available late due to an elbow? (not sure if her elbow or she took an elbow?), regardless, hopefully not a long term issue. Disappointing to hear about Buhner as she was hardly the least talented player in the rotation IMO, even if perhaps not the best fit for the SEC.
I think Buhner would have been a solid rotation piece by the end of season and starter by her Junior year. It just really hurts because that means we have signed all of two freshmen in 2 years. We are extremely unbalanced with our classes right now. We are going to need to find youth in the transfer portal and hope 2 or 3 girls use their Covid year. Imagine the team today without Rickards, Correa, and Deans. Still time but we have some work to do. We are really going to need Taliyah back before SEC play.
That explains it. It didn't make any sense that "she was a bust and was sent packing," as claimed above. You don't just get rid of kids in the season just because they don't meet expectations. And I watched her play... she wasn't bad at all for a freshman.
just trust on this she was not a good fit in the program after all..bust does not mean she doesnt have talent. I will leave it at that
