Hard to say...2021 it was obvious that the team quit on Mullen, et al after the UGa game. This year they played hard and beat no one.
I hated 2021 more because I watched the team quit on Mullen… he refused to get rid of Grantham, and he failed to recruit so the future looked bleak!
Too much day after emotion from some on here. It’s 2022 and it’s not close. 2021 team/staff quit …and didn’t just lose but got blown out and embarrassed in the losses. At least this team fought and kept the losses close.
2021 had a seasoned head coach in his 3rd year with his guys and 2022 is a first year coach coaching the fired guys players. Both seasons suck but 2021 was a sheer disappointment considering the QB was his guy w/3 years in the system.
Go with a team that cant line up correctly on D, the secondary always plays 10 yards off the line of the scrimmage, safety blitzes from 20 yards, out, #56 offsides on every other offensive play, never getting the other team of the field on 3rd and anything all the bloody time. A QB that threw 2 int every game, coaches that were best friends with the head coach for 10+ even at MSU. No turnovers by the D, no attempted block kicks of any kind. OLine as bad as the D vs 2 excellent backs, a much improved if not excellent Oline, only 1 int thrown by the QB/game, a few turnovers by the D, somewhat better 3rd down performance thanks to Miller (mostly), more in your face secondary, man to man coverage. A lot less fewer penalties. Better nutrition = better stamina. ...... It almost stunning that this isnt obvious to almost all silly posters. NEXT.
Beat 2 rivals last year, beat 0 rivals this year so on paper last year was better. In reality, we all were a lot more dejected last year as going into the season, we thought we had a playoff team. Expectations were much higher in 2021 than it was coming into 2022. So the fall from coming off the moral victory over Bama to getting blown out at South Carolina was much greater than the swing from the high of the Utah win to the loss at Vandy.
In terms of who we beat 2021 was better 2021 was also more disappointing. We had an experienced QB and teams and flopped However I was way more optimistic coming out of 2021. We had a shiny new coach, a consensus 1st round QB, etc. Now we have major issues with CBN Gameday ability, and we may have zero QB next year.
2021 had some nice wins but it was the sputtering death of a regime that quit and cashed out. 2022 stinks right now but there could be brighter days ahead.
This season was going a little bit better... until these last 2 weeks. I truly checked out Last year. Based on attrition, most of the players will be his... I'll get a better sense of what he brings. He's had a few moments in season that I know he would want back
21 looks better on paper and during the first part of the year it was. The second half of last year is the worst half season of gator football I’ve ever seen in my life
