I know we have many injuries at wr and I think the Whittemore situation really hurt us. Still scratching my head why our coaches basically ran him off the team when he definitely was better than some of the receivers that played against FSU. I saw Creed play last night and that guy is dynamic with the ball...plays like Travis from FSU. It would have been nice to have another guy that could catch the ball out there besides Piersall against FSU.

The wr room is pretty a average. I don’t know that Shorter & X make a difference last night. And the staff “running off” Whittemore is complete BS. It was his decision. And I’m ok with it.

Did they run him off? I thought that’s the one than BN said he was disappointed people transfer midseason.

It’s probably okay to move on from the Whittemore situation.

They weren't using him. I don't agree with a mid-season bail, but it appeared to me that he got the message about his status in the WR room.

I heard they wanted Whitmore to redshirt and he was not having it. Except for Piersall (him & Etienne are my favorite players on the team) who knew how to play the position when he arrived at UF, not impressed with our WR coach.
We could get still Ike Hilliard (but we won’t because he’s been elevated to OC and Billy doesn’t want one) who has done miracles at Auburn this year the last couple games with a QB who cannot throw. He really has a feel for the game

    so he’s a quitter then?

Makes no sense to leave mid season. Says more about you than it does your coach. unless it’s an injury AND you want to leave.

Exactly...you are basically running off a player when you don't play him and he feels he is better than the guys getting playing time. Why would a player stick around.

Because he made a commitment to the team and he’s on full scholarship?

    Maybe I’m just old fashioned.

After the season - totally get it.

Travis left Louisville in season as well to preserve a year of eligibility and I believe Whittemore is doing the same...he played in four games and that is the max amount you can play in and still redshirt the year.

Whittemore leaving saves him a year of eligibility

    Commitment goes both ways.

WR is one of the worst position groups on the team. Need to trade the ‘GameChanger’ coach for a ‘GameChanger’ WR. Pearsall will soar even more if he gets a big threat WR opposite him that requires focus from the defense. Hello portal store.
