I don't understand the last drive of the game. We were down a touchdown with the ball on the other side of the field and had only one timeout remaining... why were we so content to just let the clock run? In the end, it didn't matter because we couldn't convert. But assuming we could actually move the ball, why wouldn't we have tried to go faster? I've seen this lack of urgency repeatedly in games where we need to score quickly at the end.

Because we were going to go for 2 had we scored and wanted to leave as little as time on the clock for FSU as possibly.

We didn't run out of time anyway, we ran out of downs.

We would have run out of time before even being in position to score.

The timing worked perfect. Unfortunately the refs had different plans. I don’t care blaming the refs and how cliche it is. This was a VERY bad one. When we weren’t moving and they took a quarter and a half to pown us I was ready to take it like a man but that was BS and the timing was fine.

A reflection of the man in charge.

Starting to think he is just too much of a nice guy.

And it was the correct strategy. Had we hypothetically gotten the TD and the 2, even 20 seconds would have been too much time left with this defense.

With Travis, 20 seconds is enough time to win the game on a FG.

AR never gets the guys up to the line ready to go quickly. When that run up the middle happened with 1 minute left we had to burn a time out instead of just getting lined up. I dont think AR is capable of running a 2 minute offense.

In this case, I thought the clock management was good. We could not leave them any time at the end.

This was not a “last drive of the game” problem. It was a …”we did not run the ball enough, in the 2nd half” problem. It was successful… when we did it.

As much as everyone wants to hate on the refs for the missed face mask these also happened:

AR overthrew a wide open receiver that would have been close to a first down.

A receiver dropped a ball in his lap that would have been a first down.

AR threw it to noone and gave nobody a chance to make a play on the last play.

Clock management doesn’t concern me , never has. Only completing a hand full of passes in the 2nd half concern’s me a little though

I wish I had a “dumbest post” button. I will just leave it alone. As I said earlier, had we lost because we lost, no problems. There were lots of other bad calls.

I didn’t JUST say the FM, that would just suck. I said the illegal block to the back. The targeting on Douglas, the phantom block to the back where he was just reaching out and MAYBE touched his finger, and THEN after enduring all that crap having to listen to that moron say you don’t call that PI at this point in the game. Lol. Then exclude the FM. It’s literally laughable and unreal. Open your eyes brother and have a look.

Of course all those things that happened we are not going to blame anyone but ourselves for but other things happened and overthrowing a player is not illegal, it’s a bad play and nobody plays a perfect game. Did you see how many points were scored? Blame the defense if anyone but I don’t. I blame the things that absolutely shouldn’t have happened because they were egregious like ending on a FM. How are you gonna blame AR when his head is being yanked and why is it not annoying when the announcer only doesn’t like it when it’s your team.

Clock management was actually ok for a change on that last drive. What’s not fine is that we can’t even line up and were close to delay of game called multiple times.

Clock management was not ok. I know we wanted to burn time to keep FSU from scoring, but we put ourselves in a position that we had to throw on the last set of downs because we would run out of time if we tried to run.

In my opinion we should have moved with more urgency at the beginning of the drive, then milked the clock if we had time inside of their 30 or in red zone.

It was almost good clock management.

And we also had one TO left due to bad clock management earlier in the half.
