MBS gave Jared $2B to invest in his fund. Jared is a RE guy and has never run a fund. The Saudi investment advisory board voted not to invest in the fund. MBS did it anyway. Given that $2B is a significant investment and was made to a fund run by a complete neophyte who had spent much of the time he was a senior US official focused on the ME, one wonders if the "investment" is not exactly what it is represented to be.

I never said it didn’t. Throw his ass in prison if he sold out the country.

I’m not the hypocrite who is spinning.

Does he have people in this fund with him who do know how to run an investment fund?

    Here’s a hot take:

Biden should appoint JK as a special envoy to Saudi Arabia.

    I’m serious.

Whoever he has with him, the Saudi investment board voted against giving him the dough. He didn’t get it on his financial skills.

The Saudi investment board voted against it due to Kushners fund having lack of experience

anytime you recieve a single cent from any industry; person or entity that you had a say in policy; is a bribe. Bribery is illegal; except in the USA. We make fun of mexicos bribery; at least it’s in your face and undeniable. We just legalize it and pretend it’s lagitimate. We are a third world country that pretends to be legally sophisticated. I’d be line every single; dem and Republican; who ever received a bribe; campaign contribution or anything else for policy beneficial to the briber against a wall and shoot every single one of them.

Corruption rules. But does it have to be so obvious?

It was indeed an investment although not a financial one but rather an investment which would presumably pay dividends through influence.

I was reading an opinion piece from a writer who grew up in Ireland during "the troubles:. I'm sorry I don't remember his name but I remember a quote. It might not be exact but this ic close.
"The atrocities continued as long as we remembered the atrocities we chose to remember."

As long as Democrats aren't troubled by Hunter and Republicans aren't troubled by Jared the corruption will continue.

What is the firm that received investment from Saudi Arabia and what is the intent? It's a private equity firm named Affinity Partners. Not much is known about the firm but here is what I could dig up on a cursory search. At this point I see nothing that Jared can do concerning foreign policy decisions or influence thereof on behalf of the US. Why foreign nationals want to seed the company and let Jared's firm manage their investments is strictly a personal decision. Whether or not Jared and his investment firm are successful remains to be determined. If this were some type of pay off for previous services I'm sure these folks could find alternative means versus putting up money in an investment firm.

Private Equity Explained With Examples and Ways to Invest
    • Private equity firms buy companies and overhaul them to earn a profit when the business is sold again.
    • Capital for the acquisitions comes from outside investors in the private equity funds the firms establish and manage, usually supplemented by debt.
    • The private equity industry has grown rapidly; it tends to be most popular when stock prices are high and interest rates low.
    • An acquisition by private equity can make a company more competitive or saddle it with unsustainable debt, depending on the private equity firm's skills and objectives.
Jared Kushner investment firm Affinity raises $3 billion in committed funding
WASHINGTON, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Jared Kushner's global investment firm, Affinity Partners, has raised more than $3 billion in committed funding from international investors, a person familiar with the fund-raising effort told Reuters on Thursday.

Kushner, a former top aide to former President Donald Trump who is married to his daughter, Ivanka, formed the Miami-based Affinity Partners last summer after deciding to step away from politics, and began raising money in the fall.

Kushner plans to invest in American and Israeli companies that are looking for international expansion opportunities in India, Africa, the Middle East and other parts of Asia.
    .......
The firm has hired about 20 people, including private equity veterans Bret Perlman and Asad Naqvi, and plans to focus on U.S. based investments as well as those in the Middle East.

Well your first sentence is a little out there, but I agree with the rest of your post. If the investment board recommended against investing, then it should be looked into very carefully.

    Unfortunately, it won’t be.

"At this point I see nothing that Jared can do concerning foreign policy decisions or influence thereof on behalf of the US."
Same would apply to Joe Biden back in 2018 when the alleged "big guy" meeting arranged by Hunter Biden would have taken place.

Technically, government employees are not allowed to accept gifts more than $25. Two billion is pretty close to the limit
