He is 6’6 with wheels and silly accuracy. And my (underperforming) FF pick.

Agree with you, but these cats aren’t just hanging out at Home Depot.

Silly accuracy is absolutely necessary. Once the legs are gone which don’t last long, all the best qbs throw. The legs are flashes in the pan 10-6 types. Either learn to throw or retire. I love running as an option but drafting athletes to play qb is really dumb.

Maybe, and totally agree that passing is The Thing. But we just saw Allen hit a ludicrous 40 yard rope on absolute money, then ran twice for 10 to win. Peyton maybe hits that 40 yarder (although that was an all-timer throw) but the two runs are out of the question. Brady too. New day.

Love Pierce but it is far far harder for an underclassmen RB to get drafted early than a QB.

If AR declares but plays in the bowl game then he’s as legit as Pierce. That is true for any of these guys.

    Especially in today’s NFL where
RBs also more likely to get hurt. And I wouldn’t put money on AR playing the bowl game.

Yet they were better passers and didn’t need to risk injury. The run Allen made to help fg range on tge last play was valuable yardage and good football but in a few years, it’ll no longer be an option. Maybe Allen gets those yards with his arm in the future.

I tend to agree although a couple of days ago I looked at several NFL mock drafts updated as of last week or later and at least three of them still had AR being selected in the first round. That being said the mock drafts were products of sports writers not NFL GMs or directors of player personnel.

Writers who talk off the record with NFL GM's and scouts all of the time.

But Buffalo ran those plays because they can. It’s available if you have Allen. Getting those 10 with Brady/Manning means putting the ball in peril like Vandy did thinking they’d catch Marshall sleeping after eight straight runs and instead he almost won the game by being a future pro.

    Bu
t Allen isn’t Brady or Peyton yet. Maybe one day but not even one championship yet. And Allen came up limping, he won’t be doing that much longer.

He did take the shot, and that’s what will happen in the NFL. You’ll get caught. This happens to Lamar too. YouTube freaky-deak vids of QB’s making crazy runs exist because it’s rare, and unwise. An NFL safety might be the last dude in the bar you want to mouth off to. He’s probably a good UFC fighter in a different life.

ThTs why I prefer a guy that doesn’t need his legs, nice last resort though and for fg range it would be worth it in a big game I guess.

I want someone who is accurate, makes good decisions and is a leader first.

OTOH, I think Allen is far from a finished product. His progress is pretty remarkable and I don't think he's close to his ceiling.

And if he’s playing ten years from now on a whole mother level, he will get better at throwing and quit tgat foolish running.

When Buffalo finds a RB better than Singletary, you'll see his designed runs drop.

Allen's next challenge to cut down on his hero ball throws. He's still young though and is still figuring it out.

Stay healthy and he will have the opportunity to learn. Andrew Luck could have probably been a hall guy but he had maybe too much fight in him. I guess I’m a hypocrite for suggesting AR carry the team with his legs.

No, like me, you know that AR is a difference maker with his legs. My belief is you are more at risk in the pocket getting sacked than being a runner initiating contact. The worst injuries I've see QB's suffer (Theisman) happened in the pocket.

I'm hoping that AR's going out party includes a couple of 80 yarders tomorrow.
