If hate speech is really down, then that's a good thing. I'm just questioning if it's really down of if he just changed the rules.

But you have to admit, celebrating that Musk is supposedly tougher on his moderation policy for right wing hate speech than the previous CEO is pretty comical after he claimed to be a "free speech absolutist" and all those Nazi clowns thought they were getting Parler 2.0.

It may be true, because there were already rumblings that Apple and Google were beggining to talk about pulling it from the App store if it did become Parler 2.0.

I’m sorry about your reading comprehension shortcomings. I was talking about the fact Musk had to modify the maximum # of allowable tweets per day down from a number that apparently accommodated bots mass posting. Twitter has always had a problem with bots and Musk’s fix should have been obvious to anyone at Twitter with at least a GED. In other words, it doesn’t seem previous ownership was doing much to combat the bot problem, which is consistent with Musk’s complaints during the past year.

You’re just posting lies. Musk has always stated hate speech and racism wouldn’t be tolerated. It was never going to be a free for all.

If I had to guess, a majority of the 1,500 bots responsible for the spike at the beginning were probably set up by leftists as a false flag.

Musk is taking the mini-Trump approach to Twitter, only thing left is for an insurrection against his company

So he's going to be just like the old guard, except with a higher tolerance for calls to violence against the government? Sounds good.

    (a) no where does it say they were bots and (b) CNBC said that it was organized by 4Chan trolls.

Twitter usage is at all-time highs and hate speech is lower than it was under the old guard.

Again, it depends on how it's measured, you know that. If a city's cops stop enforcing most minor drug offenses, then the next month announces minor drug offenses are down ... well ... that doesn't mean much. Drug use could actually be up when it becomes known that the new sheriff doesn't care.

Now add on top of that the city fired half the cops ... I bet enforcement does go down ... don't you think?

Musk has to walk a fine line between keeping the advertisers happy and delivering on his promise of "free speech absolutism". My guess is money will win out and free speech will take a back seat. Looks like that's already a happen. Twitter is probably going to be the same as it always was.

Not really sure about the latter although there is a simple explanation for the former, curiosity regarding the platform since Musk gained control of the platform. Although it may last a while the Musk effect will be transitory.

Musk has made it clear he intends on pushing Twitter on a global scale. Don’t be surprised if the user count keeps rising. Still lots of room for growth.

Yeah ... my guess is that money will win over "free speech absolutism". Did Musk pay $44 Billion to keep Twitter the same ... probably... lol.

Ok, so now we have you admitting that Musk is making sure hate/racist tweets are deleted and he’s going to get advertisers back. But somehow you think the man who built Tesla and SpaceX from the ground up paid $44 billion just to keep Twitter the same? Your logic makes no sense.

I’m not “admitting” anything. Again, for the third time, It’s my opinion that money will win over free speech absolutism…. That remains to be seen by how Musk handles trying to lure the ad money back and assure them this isn’t going to be Parler 2.0. I’ve said like half a dozen in this thread I don’t expect Twitter to totally fail and Musk would be smart to get a real CEO who knows social media so that CEO can rebuild the company image he’s destroyed.
