Shooter has ..that… for a dad Was bullied at school for homosexuality.. no doubt dad was at least verbally abusive. If classmates were picking on him you know that dad was saying crap. Kid changes his name to get away from the psycho dad. Identifies as non binary. Threatened to blow up his home a few years ago.. and somehow managed to skirt the red flag laws and buy two guns. Shoots up a gay bar. So many issues here. My guess is he hated himself and how he felt ( after growing up in that home) and lost it and lashed out. How he was allowed to purchase firearms is beyond me.Lots of questions we may never get answers too. But how many times are we going to see red flags ignored by family, friends, LE, etc… and it end in a tragedy like this?
At this point, I've given up. If dead children don't motivate people, nothing will. They got their politicians on the Supreme "Court" to ensure that it's basically impossible to pass meaningful gun safety laws. And they have their politicians in Congress to make sure that doesn't change. The same people will toss everything but the kitchen sink out to avoid having to admit that guns are the biggest problem. They're too easy to get and too easy to keep. But what's the point in even having the debate anymore? Their "judges" guaranteed that the guns! guns! guns! crowd will get what they want.
Now the retired Army major that fought and overcame the shooter is being ridiculed and called a groomer for taking his family to see a drag show. The usual suspects. The Far Right Is Already Attacking the Club Q Hero — VICE Richard Fierro, the Army veteran who tackled and disarmed the shooter inside LGBTQ Club Q in Colorado Springs, is currently receiving a torrent of hate and harassment from far-right extremists. The far-right has is calling Fierro a “groomer” and a “f*ggot,” while questioning his sexuality for being at the Club Q drag show. Others even questioned the veracity of his entire story, according to an investigation conducted by VICE News and researchers at Advance Democracy Inc, a nonprofit that tracks online extremism. Others joined in: “So a married man, His Wife, Daughter and her boyfriend all go to Gay bar together? I’m gonna call bullshit on this,” a user on far-right Christian platform Gab wrote on Tuesday. “If it’s not bullshit he’s helping to molest children and he’s all for it,” another Gab user wrote in response, adding: “F*ggot dad in closet.”
Lauren Boebert Can’t Believe People Are Linking Her Anti-LGBTQ+ Rhetoric to the LGBTQ+ Club Shooting Colorado representative Lauren Boebert has a well-documented history of demonizing the LGBTQ+ community—but in the wake of Saturday’s mass shooting at Colorado LGBTQ+ nightclub Club Q, she’d prefer that people forget about everything she’s ever said and definitely not link her hateful rhetoric to the uptick in violence against the community. On Tuesday, while speaking to Ross Kaminsky, a radio host at Colorado’s KOA station, Boebert called it “disgusting” to blame her for what happened over the weekend or accurately note the various ways she’s vilified LGBTQ+ people. “That is completely false,” she said, falsely. “I have never had bad rhetoric towards anyone and their personal preferences as an adult.” Then, because she’s a bigot—and not a very smart one at that—she immediately added: “What I’ve criticized is the sexualization of our children. And I’ve criticized men dressing up as caricatures of women.” While most rationale people would agree that children should not be sexualized, Boebert, like many on the right, equates allowing gender-affirming medical care for trans youth with child “grooming.” She also believes that drag queens pose a threat to children just by simply existing, and we know this because she’s previously said as much ........ In addition to previously smearing the LGBTQ+ community online, Boebert has attacked legislation like the Equality Act, which protects transgender youth. Last year, on the House floor, she urged her colleagues to vote against the measure, saying, “Where is the equity in this legislation for the young girls across America who will have to look behind their backs as they change in school locker rooms, just to make sure there isn’t a confused man trying to catch a peek?” On Sunday, after Boebert tweeted that the victims of the Club Q shooting were in her “prayers,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded: “@laurenboebert you have played a major role in elevating anti-LGBT+ hate rhetoric and anti-trans lies while spending your time in Congress blocking even the most common sense gun safety laws. You don’t get to ‘thoughts and prayers’ your way out of this. Look inward and change.” In related news from the far right, Tucker Carlson followed up his Monday night show—in which he claimed that we have no idea what motivated the Club Q shooter—with a guest who matter-of-factly stated that the massacre occurred because of gender-affirming care, adding that such tragedies would likely continue to happen until the practice was stopped.
My god, the absolute disgustingness of some people still continues to amaze me. It shouldn’t by this point, but it does.
A good rule of thumb would be if you're easily offended or triggered, probably a good idea to stay off of most all social media sites.
