He is awesome. But I’m not sitting here saying he will prove you all wrong. I’m saying it’s way too early to rule it out. And to be fair, I think there are lots of educated people who are taking the wait and see on Twitter. Too many analysts have been burned in the past by doubting his other businesses. He hasn’t achieved anything at Twitter yet and he may never. It’s just way too early to say that he definitely won’t, with a guy like Musk.

Ultimately we will just have to wait. My point is whether he does or doesn’t fix Twitter who cares it is Twitter. He could be working on Tesla, space X, skylink and other important ventures but instead he seems to be intent on owning the libs who have hurt his feelings by going all in on Twitter.

You first made the awesome comment in a stand alone post with zero context before repeating it again now. Sure sounds like adulation to me.

Musk has a pretty big plan for what we know as Twitter today. “X”… the everything app. He has stated his acquisition of Twitter was just to get a head start on “X”. Apparently, he believes Twitter gets him a 3-year jump on the project. He didn’t just buy Twitter to make a few tweaks and hope it works out. And as you mentioned, he’s spending so much time on this when he has Tesla and SpaceX to worry about. That tells me he has a pretty big vision for the future of Twitter/X. Time will tell if said vision is fruitful, but he’s not just burning $44 billion.

Adulation with regard to what he has done in the past and well-deserved. No adulation for Twitter yet, as he has accomplished very little with Twitter thus far. Although daily user activity continues to set new records under his stewardship.

Yup. This has also made it quite clear that people don't understand what "free speech" and / or the 1st amendment are really about.

Yeah, if your goal is to try to make money by turning the app into something else entirely, you don't fire a huge percentage of the staff in order to make the old version more profitable. You especially don't do it without understanding what every member of the staff does and how it relates to this new product.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/23/apple-and-elon-musks-twitter-are-on-a-collision-course.html

CNBC article.... brought this up earlier in the thread but unmoderated hate speech is one of the reasons Parler booted from both App Stores and prevented Truth Social from being on the Google Store until they improved their standards...

"One of the biggest risks to Musk’s vision for “Twitter 2.0” is the possibility that his changes violate Apple or Google’s app rules in a way that slows down the company or even gets its software booted from app stores.

    ....

There are signs Twitter has already seen an increase in harmful content since Musk has taken over, putting the company’s apps at risk. In October, shortly after Musk became “chief Twit,” a wave of online trolls and bigots flooded the site with hate speech and racist epithets.

The trolls organized on 4chan, then barreled into Twitter with anti-Black and Jewish epithets. Twitter suspended many of the accounts, according to the nonprofit Network Contagion Research Institute.

    ....

“And as I departed the company, the calls from the app review teams had already begun,” former Twitter head of trust and safety Yoel Roth wrote this month in the New York Times.

Looks like AOC is still using Twitter daily. You’d think with all that unmoderated hate speech, she’d be adios.

That’s really what this is. He is exposing truth, shedding light. God bless Elon Musk.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Wow if he’s the one who fixed this. What does that say about previous ownership??

Hmmmm ... so you are saying Musk is even more into censorship and opposing free speech that the previous owner?

But seriously, before celebrating, you should ask if this change is due to Musk altering the definition of what Hate Speech is after taking over, a watered down definition what is hate speech could explain a 1/3 drop in hate speech detection...

Elon's in a tough spot. Hate speech is up, he sucks. Hate speech is down, he sucks, doesn't really believe in free speech. :emoji_joy:
