I disagree Bling. Tea Party while nutty itself, was about taxation and spending almost entirely. It had no central figure to worship.

What Trump's MAGA movement has become is a rudderless blind following by many good people blinded by the pandering.

    It happens in every cult

David Koresh didn't find a bunch of terrible people. He fooled a bunch of good people.

The tea party was a product of the Great Recession and economic uncertainty, it did spawn “organically” at first based on a rant by a right wing CNBC anchor. Outside of economic frustration, I honestly can’t say what it stood for (if it ever stood for anything) since it quickly became hijacked by GOP operatives with the same sort of crap they sell now, it quickly attracted the racists and “don’t read on me” types of anti-govt folks. It was a neat little deflection in a time of economic uncertainty to make the new guy the boogeyman (instead of the old guy, their guy, who presided over that mess… it was important for their “movement” for the zombies to forget that).

The only point I agree with is MAGA movement is more cultish, with the QANON sideshows and whatnot, but ultimately the cult leader is feeding into the same racist stuff and anti-Obama vitriol you see on those tea party posters in that picture and thousands like them.

As usual, I think you're one of the most reasonable posters here. My opinion hasn't changed, not that I expect you to care about it. :D

You should though, high praise from prestigious poster 715 is hard to come by. ;)

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. If someone leaked they should be fired, impeached - as appropriate. Does not matter what their affiliation is.

    2. Too easy today for someone to accuse anyone of anything. “Hey, 15 years ago I saw Biden go through the Express aisle at the grocery store with 12 items!!!” Announcer - “ we will have details of the shocking accusation on the hour.”
    It’s become old.

Indeed, when the edge of agreement is often blurred or entangled.
