It’s no surprise that Nike would create such an unpatriotic representation for our National Team’s coach to don. In fact, China has to love seeing the American coach wearing a shirt that simply says "STATES." Libbies tearing us down again or am I reading too much into it. You sure it was meant to be unpatriotic? Saying someone is "from the states" is a pretty common slang used in other countries, seems like they are just playing off that.
Yeah, when I first saw it I thought the same thing as you. But it’s a black and white shirt and only says states. On this large a stage I think it’s a statement.

Its amazing Nike has been making those shirts for several years now, the team wore them throughout qualifying and the outrage machine didn't notice until now. Seems contrived to me, get a life losers.
Does it matter? This is the stuff total losers make up to get mad about, they live in their own world.
Political hack or not doing the writing, whether they wore them through qualifying, this is the largest stage the team will be performing on, and they are representing this country. We all can disagree on direction of country, lean left or right, but don't we want the team representing OUR country to display OUR colors and have USA on everything they wear? If you don't want to patriotic to this country, then maybe you shouldn't represent this country on the world stage. You can wear any colors you want, but when this country pays for it, shouldn't we demand it and at least have a little outrage about it? We can all get outraged for a bunch of other stupid $hit on both sides of the aisle, can't we at least agree on this?
Do you think the US national team is funded by the government or something? Because it isn't. If you haven't bought any of their merchandise or gone to a game, you haven't paid a cent for them.
Yeah, that is why the letters USA on the crest is literally front and center on their jerseys. Good call.
What is hilarious is that in their zeal to attack the US team for not being patriotic enough, they failed to notice that the team they played doesn't even have the name Wales on their jerseys. I guess they were too busy getting teary eyes over them playing a national anthem that isn't the national anthem of the actual country they are in to notice.
