I have to admit that I am guilty of wanting AR to fit my image of what a leader on the field should look like. But then I tell myself that heroes come in different types of packaging. I’m hoping the switch gets turned on by Friday night. We really need it to happen.
That's not fair . . . anyone with a kick a$$ defense almost certainly fares better. Adding the OBC into the equation means I'd pick him not knowing anything at all about his team. LOL!
I read online (Gators Wire) AR will sit out bowl game. His post game comment makes you wonder about his game productivity.
Look at how he carries himself on the field and you'll have your answer. Can't remember watching a QB hang his head so much and get inside his own mind after bad plays than AR. I don't ever see side line shots of him talking to the D or O getting people pumped up. I just remember how Tebow was a maniac on the sidelines getting Spikes and company pumped up.
AR needs to run the ball against fsu. He's a better and more confident QB (and we're a better and more balanced team) when he does. I understand limiting his runs early in the season to keep a running QB healthy enough to get through the season, but, this is fsu and it's the last regular game of the season. There is no reason left to hold back, if there ever was one. The bowl game doesn't matter if we win this game. We'll have a winning season and will have beaten a bitter rival that we've been holding down for the last four years if he runs over fsu and controls the clock. As far as AR's leadership of the team, I kind of feel like ya'll are being too hard on the guy. But, at the same time, I do also think that you now have the right to do so if you choose, because he's a professional athlete hauling in a million dollars a year because of his position on the field.
Hey- you seriously should look this up. What percentage of NFL players end up bankrupt or in serious financial trouble after retirement. The number is high, if you don't know. Because again, money doesn't solve your problems. And between taxes, agents, family, etc, this money goes fast. (Also see lottery winner bankruptcies.) So actually- far better for a guy to be a little more mature and to set himself up for a long career than a quick buck, which will probably be gone soon anyway. What you and others forget is that YOU are not going to earn this money. It's a 21 year old kid, with limited life experiences.
In fairness . . . I want to point out that's (1) Based on 247; and (2) Their PROJECTIONS that Richardson and O'Cyrus Torrence would sit out to protect their NFL aspirations. No announcement about AR sitting out has been made as far as I've seen.
I didn’t say I wished stupidity on him. What he does with several million is on him. There are many who do quite well also.
Well, I hope AR plays bowl game, Torrence as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both opted out. Disappointed, but I get it.
agreed, good post. AR's a nice guy from all accounts and I like him and am rooting for him to succeed. If he can find some consistency in his level of play and stop trying to put holes in his receivers with 100mph throws at short range, the sky is the limit for this kid. but that said, I also agree with the sentiment that at this point he's got three years as a college athlete and plenty of actual games as a starter under his belt, so nobody (not you ant, just a general observation) should be throwing out "inexperience" as a response to critiques of his play.
Here's the story @urbangirl probably saw: Two Gators projected to sit during bowl season by 247Sports
Oh I agree wholeheartedly. Just becausei like the kid and support him doesn't mean I think he's beyond criticism. I think he can improve to a point but I think his current limitations have nothing to do with being inexperienced. The scheme change may have hurt him but he has had more time in this level a program than many others who have not. I think some of the things AR struggles with like leadership, energy and reading progressions are almost never changed enough to matter to the point many hope. I just don't question his character
Are you equating guys celebrating a TD with leadership on the sideline? I assume so since this post was in response to someone addressing his sideline interaction. Let's be real, this pic has NOTHING to do with sideline leadership
Probably why he does not want to take punishment to his body. Only a game. Just a sport. You win some and you lose some. Oh well, maybe next week. I want VP a QB that is dying after a loss. Pain is immeasurable. Will do anything to win and avoid that pain again
Come on man that’s on field after a score. I’ll wait for the picture of him rallying the troops while on the sidelines.
