I'm fine with Kiffin....Honestly...I'd be good with any of the top 3-4 candidates we've targeted. Given that Harsin was the first AU coach since Bowden to not have at least one season going undefeated and/or playing for a Natty...and we're talking Bowden, Tubs, Chizik, Gus...I'd argue this is the best all around FB coach hire we've made since Dye. NIL is booming now and the sparkling new Football Facility is open for business. All of the power players realize (FINALLY) that we need to get our proverbial sh** together given that LSU, Tennessee are rising, Georgia is Georgia, and Alabama is still Alabama. Got to keep pace and quit fighting internally over who gets "their guy".

Definitely gonna make the Iron Bowl even more intense given Lane's laser focus on beating Saban. Now bring Judkins with you Lane to pair with Hunter in the backfield.

So our Auburn poster thinks it's a done deal. Hmmmmm.

Thanks @62gator . . . Now you guys listen to this Josh Pate fellow more than me . . . but how bad is he trolling? "I know some super top-secret names that would shock most folks that are very interested but can't say anything about them or even if they'll be offered the job." Same thing for the Ole Miss job that isn't even open but "Some that would surprise most, some who are very well known and well established, but I can't talk about any of them." LOL!

Heads he wins. Tails he wins. Could even be: "John Gruden was definitely in the mix."

Based on the below article, it's not about annual salary but length of contract.

The weird law that prevents a lengthy Lane Kiffin contract

Less than a one year sec payout. Teams have a free roster and lots of cash.

This is the biggest difference in the 2 jobs. I don't think that Ole Miss can compete on the NIL level that Auburn is now on.

Forget salaries, staff, facilities, tradition, etc....NIL comes first and foremost these days and I think the Auburn job is Kiffin's if he wants it.

    Freeze is the backup.

Maybe 247 needs to have a crystal ball for Coaches they way they have one for recruits.

I would not feel too good if I were an Ole Miss fan and saw this headline this morning as it sounds like a pretty tepid confirmation. But the headline is misleading. Halfway into the article the reporter notes he was responding yes to the question…

"Yes, I do," Kiffin said Thursday when asked if he expects to return to Ole Miss next season.

Kiffin says he expects to return as Ole Miss coach

Why would he? I'd tell him to go to Auburn and demand a longer than 4-years (Mississippi max) contract for at least $10MM a year. This is Kiffin's chance and he'll likely never get more leverage.
