Phil, I appreciate the links. I still think it's a huge stretch to act as though any kind of consensus of Republicans believes that gays should be slaughtered like this. But you and the others who answered do have a point: The constant hammering of the idea that our children are in peril because gays and trans are all grooming them to pull them into their web of debauchery - and we've seen some of that outrageous stupidity here on Too Hot - is bound to create a truly hostile and even deadly environment.
Conservatives hiding behind the label find themselves indoctrinated with hate beyond their own very natural compassion. The idea that a conservative brand would ever accept the gay lifestyle is hilarious as the simple bases itself on some hypothethical reasoning based on Jesus and what is peeached. I say again...the Bible explicitly states not to judge and yet the bastardization of those principles exist in the hearts of Jesus faithful. You do as you feel but I as a Muslim, feel no shame respecting fellow humans regardless of some immans dialogue. Honesty isnt political nor sociological...it is real. I’m just questioning whether Aldrich identified as trans prior to this attack because Occam’s razor suggests this was a hate crime targeting the trans community. First peep we’ve heard about this is from his defense attorney. I don’t give a shit how he/she identifies because I’m not a bigot.
I have no idea whether Aldrich is or has been non-binary But I believe I have read that most violence against the trans community does in fact come from with in the trans community… and that may be true for all LGTBQ communities I don’t know. The young man has clearly been dealing with SOMETHING for a while give the threats made to family members . I don’t think it’s a stretch to consider he was non binary.
