Haven't heard a bad word about this kid. Seems like a local kid that struggles with pressure to me but I'm not gonna bag on him. I am fatigued from all the AR to the NFL talk that has been a distraction since before the season though. With no inside knowledge I'm of the belief that his personal qb coach isn't a help and has contributed to how his time here has played out. Seems like he's gone one way or another and I wish him well.

I yhink the point is.....he is not a team leader at this juncture, on a team that badly needs leadership beyond Ventrell. I could be more forgiving of on field issues if he actually was the team leader

Guys I could be reading way too much in this but that low key statement is kind of the way I would see BN view on football. Analytical, accurate and passionless. "We win some we lose some." Obviously, BN will do everything possible for the team to win, but he is very analytical, accurate and passionless meaning very low key. It's more of a reality statement.
I think a lot of Gators want more than that, want a passionate leader aka TT who inspires. The statement "you win some you lose some" not so much.

I think this is more blown up than it needs probably due to the lack of passion seen on the field vs Vandy. It had all the feel of a business trip instead of we're excited to represent our team, fans and all those who have helped us along the way. Seems everything is very low key.

AR will get drafted on measurables.
IMO he will not make it past year three. He best save whatever money he earns from his first contact because there won't be a second contract. AR just doesn't have it between the ears. Further there appears to be no fight in him.

This part of your post seems oxymoronic.

I've never know of a low key coach that was more than just average. Persona and disposition matter when attempting to motivate young men.

Ha! The pizza skipper is definitely working the Uncle Rico vibe. His throwing motion and even the expression on his face are similar to the steak throwing scene

I just saw a mock draft that has AR going in the first round to Tampa of all places.

So you think the comparison is apt?

    Edit: reply to gatordavisl

If you are asking about this statement, particularly the underlined:

    Then yes, I completely agree.

If you are asking in general comparing Tim Tebow to AR and their leadership/heart/whatever is being thrown around, not really. Clearly they have different personalities and expecting them to respond in the same way is nonsensical. When you have something as inexplicable as what took place on Saturday, you will always get people trying to find rational solutions. It's like saying Zeus is throwing bolts to explain lightning, it's what people do.

But what are you basing this on? A two-sentence quote to the press? Do you have some insider knowledge, for examples, that AR is not a strong locker room leader? What I am reading are a bunch of rightfully angered Gator fans misdirecting their anger. Rightfully angered, largely because we just lost to Vandy. Misdirected because the negative outcome was due primarily to mistakes by the defense.
Quick - how many sophomore Gator QB/first-year starters were great and played on great teams? (Answers forth-coming)

Help me understand what has AR done to show leadership during this entire year? Serious question. What would a player need to do for fans to say, "man, he's a real leader of the team?" Just asking.

Nope, definitely meant escape goat. It makes more sense after a Thanksgiving at Saban's. Or if the team has jetpacks and lasers.

I'll take a stab. I think these guys are either freshman, RSF, S, or RSS. Shane, Danny, Johnson, Grossman, Driskell, Grier, maybe Franks. He did help UF win 10 & 11 games.

I think we all realize, whether we choose to admit it or not, that it's time to move on. With that, I wish AR the best at the next level, and I mean that.
