I believe the Black vote started shifting Democrat in the 1930s, well during the time of the Dixiecrats.

The Southern vote started shifting Republican in the 70s and 80s, a while after the Civil Rights Act was passed.

It's almost like there are more issues that persuade American voters, White and Black, Southern or Northern, even during Jim Crow, than race.

Those idiots tried to cancel French toast. Enough said.

The anti CaNcEl CuLtUrE warriors crack me up, either they are being totally disingenuous and just wanting to troll or they actually have the attention span of gnats.

Blacks were allowed to vote in the 30s? You learn something new every day.

Instead of a come on man, tell me where I went wrong. Black folk and white folk both know the geography of their origin. You said they don’t. Maybe the 10,000 years is too much. What if I revise the timeline to 350 years. I’ll bet that both of us know our geographic origins.

Lincoln pardoned most Confederate officers and supported giving Southerners full voting rights upon rejoining the Union. Banning statues wasn’t even a thing for white liberals until like 15 years ago, bro. Lincoln did a lot of GREAT things, but he never proposed totally stripping the South of its history. In fact, he made it very easy for them to reunite with the North. Many times to the chagrin of more radical Republicans, at the time. Stop acting like he would have banned statues. His actions show he would have looked the other way, as he did on so many issues that go deeper than mere statues. (and I’m not saying he was right in doing so, I’m just correcting the historical record of events)

It was a post undeserving of a serious response. White people are generally aware of where they/their families immigrated to America from. You have Italian Americans, German Americans, Irish Americans, etc. That leads to distinct cultural identities.

As the author made clear, that's not true for a large chunk of Black people in America. Because slavers forcibly abducted their ancestors and transported them to America, they don't know where exactly they're from. So for them, Black describes more than just color. It describes a shared culture for the people of the African diaspora.

You made a historically false claim and have now moved the goalposts to speculating about what Lincoln would have done. Problem is your speculation requires us to believe that Lincoln would have been accepting of Southerners building monuments that glorified the Confederacy. Fat chance of that. In any case, I'm not sure how this conversation is relevant to this thread.

I find that 90%of your posts are undeserving of a serious response unless you are talking football then once in a while you say something meaningful. You should stick to those sites.

Programs aimed at achieving equality of opportunity. I know one idea @G8trGr8t has posed is putting increased resources into education and educational opportunities for Black people and other historically disadvantaged communities.

Look I don't care what liberal article you send me. I do not know one person that is a racist and a lot of them are Republicans. I also have many Democrat friends and none of them are racist but I guarantee you there are racists on both sides. These people live in the shadows of society. Stop trying to put the Democratic party on the high ground of the racial issue because they just don't belong there. How about we agree that racism is one of the worst afflictions someone can have and it doesn't matter what party they are in. If you keep calling me a racist I am going to return the favor but some people are perfectly ok with it. After all Kamala Harris called Joe Biden a racist to his face and then said "oh that was just politics". I say let's stop giving racism life by making it a political topic and treat it for what it is a social issue that we can all get behind and try and put an end to.

Sorry if I misquoted you but you have said a lot of strange things on this subject. I will try and be more careful when I quote you.

This is a joke right, You equating the Dixie Chicks to the mainstream Republican Party is like me asserting AOC speaks for the mainstream Democratic Party. Of course I may be wrong here she may very well speak for mainstream Democrats.

See I knew you would eventually come around to appreciating Trump. That's exactly what he did by creating opportunity zones in disadvantaged neighborhoods and permanently funding Historically Black Colleges. There might be hope for you yet.
