I'm not sure he's a first rounder either, hope he is.

i don't see how he goes higher than the 3rd round. i think once these scouts really dig into the film near the season's end, we'll see more drop him even further. i just view him as a super athletic emory jones..

Don’t underestimate how badly an NFL GM wants to find the next big QB. AR will raise a lot of eyebrows at the combine and test well on the wonderlic. All it takes is one team.

very true. ar is an extremely talented athlete. going by the stats, he's a below average qb. just looking at the stats, a case could easily be made there are 8 qbs in the SEC better than him. then there are an additional 2 who have better stats, but you could argue for ar.

Ironically, when I was talking to a Gator buddy of mine about AR and prospect of going pro, I mentioned Hartman as a QB who looks pro ready. I don't know how tall he is or any of those things, but he sure is patient in the pocket, takes a hit and still delivers the ball on target.
He reminds me of Joe Montana. The dude is just consistently efficient.
If AR goes pro, Hartman would be the man and perfect timing for our young guys to learn from coming in.
I know the FSU fans won't be happy.

Well, since he’s played so many years in the weak ass ACC, maybe he can improve his draft stock from mid to late rounder to first or second day by stepping up in competition and succeeding in the SEC.

(yes, this is just a post to bash on how bad the ACC is).

I mean, at some point he definitely should have played Richardson -- he has upside Jones never had, and Jones was throwing interceptions left and right, so it's not like he even had the "game manager" thing going for him. On the other hand, Richardson's injuries that season were kind of poorly timed and made it difficult to fully transition to him.

On the other hand, yeah, Mullen said a thousand times that Richardson was immensely talented but needed a lot more development in the passing game and everyone called him an idiot, and it definitely seems like he was completely right about that.

That article highlights how poorly Mullen managed his QB room if that was his assessment of his number 2 QB though. It's not like AR was buried on the depth chart. If EJ went down at any point he knew AR would be the guy so why are you in that situation to begin with and why wasn't AR getting mid game reps like EJ was with Trask then. Not really the point of you posting the article but I couldn't help but mention it.

Personally, I see AR has a big risk staying and showing the same mental mistakes, thus ending his chances in the NFL (maybe late round or UFA). This year he can still claim learning and find a good team willing to draft him as a 3+ year project to develop, maybe 3rd to 5th round.

I don't think he'll fix all his problems and that's why I believe his best choice is declaring. Also as a high pick he'd have the tremendous pressure that won't let his mind develop. Who knows, but that's my guess of what's best for him.
