Undeniable points - a previous post cited NO positives from this season but I don't think anyone will argue with those points. Not one poster on this board knows the inside situation of what Napier is dealing with. There are so many variables that comparisons to other coaches/programs are meaningless. But we probably should resign ourselves because trolls gotta troll.

This is a bad, bad loss….no way to sugar coat it. Not sure what the game plan was but it definitely looked like it was not playing to our strengths. CBN said that AR has the option to run on every play, almost indicating that it was on AR……but who was calling all the pass plays? Sure looked like our staff was looking past the game. I actually hope that was the case, at least it explains the poor game plan.

I hear you, but you're conveniently ignoring the number of times our players inexplicably shot the team in the foot - on offense and defense.

The muffed punt was beyond head scratching - totally unnecessary to even go for the catch and it led to a TD. . . . and we lost by a TD.

Multiple times we stopped them on 3rd down, only to have some boneheaded personal foul negate the stop and give them a fresh set of downs.

3rd down conversions we made that were negated by dumbass brain farts. The snap over AR’s head for a 20 yard loss.

Clearly biased refs who apparently looked at only one team for mistakes while turning a blind eye to the other. Case in point, the roughing the passer call, where our player (forget right now who it was) was so obviously held coming around the end that the Vandy defender was literally holding him back from behind by his jersey - no freaking wonder he went on and hit the QB. That should have been offsetting penalties, but of course wasn't.

On top of that, Vandy played over their heads - the circus catch for the int that was a blown throw away by AR, the blind flailing one-handed break up of a sure TD bomb, the list goes on.

No there's no excuse for losing to Vandy - but this was a very weird loss. Almost like the game was cursed, as another poster said. If Georgia dominated Vandy and lost to them as you described, then theirs was a very weird loss too.

I agree. The only teams that say "the game was meaningless" are teams that are ok with losing. You ever hear Saban, Meyer, Spurrier tell us a game was meaningless?

I heard Kirby got a Prince Albert too...I think that would really help Napier...think he is up for that too?

Well, I guess I was wrong, I just don't belong
But then I've been there before
Everything's all right, I'll just say good night
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey, I didn't mean to cause a big scene
Just give me an hour and then
Well, I'll be as high as that ivory tower
    That you're livin' in

Sometimes I get the impression here that the only team that beat us because they were the better team was the 1995 'Huskers.

Otherwise, we always blame ourselves for losses...

I've never heard any of them actually say it, but I've heard countless Gator fans say SOS's record against FSU was poor because they were focused on the SECCG...

@MCB51 already blamed me . . . and has banned me from any games outside Gainesville for, I think, 2-years.

I will take my medicine and accept responsibility for this weird, cursed loss. LOL! :)

Our fans come up with lots of stuff. I can't for the life of me see Spurrier letting an FSU game slip away because of focus on another game. He's too competitive for that, and he of all people knows it means too much. And no way in hell would he ever consider it meaningless.

I agree with you completely. That said, in an effort to absolve Spurrier of any accountability for the losses, many Gator fans would rationalize the losses with the idea that SOS didn't really CARE about losing to an OOC opponent -- even an instate rival like FSU.

Out of all the miscues from that game, this one is the most understandable. With both punt returners out we put someone back there with no experience and probably very little practice time.
