Great job, guys. Letting them turn this into the 5,000,000th thread about Trump. They do it every time and yet you fall right into the trap every single time. Black former Gators publicly defending Stokes, so of course they are desperate to turn this into a pissing match about Trump. WHY do you guys let it happen??
I don’t have to excuse the general public for shit. This is a Gator forum and I will support Gator commits if the situation warrants it. If that bothers you, perhaps you should take your ass back over to Canes forum you came from.
Funny how every argument that most libbies have made about "Stokes the Racist" has been discredited you have all moved on to your favorite subject....TRUMP. This OP seems to now be over.
Thank you for that perspective. Especially poignant was your framing the "N" word as a weapon used by whites, and how you "then took the knife and rather than knife you back, reclaimed it as a tool to both shape and describe the culture YOU used the word to denigrate."
Yall only care about what black football players have to say when its something you agree with. Let those same black former Gator players say something you don't like and you'd be calling them woke, libbies etc
Which "libbie" called Stokes a racist? The point people have made is that actions have consequences. Stokes's decision to post the video was a very, very bad one that created a PR headache for our program. Our coaching staff decided Stokes wasn't worth the headache and yanked his scholarship. The fact that you had to create a straw man here says it all about how effective you were at "discrediting" arguments.
The topic is Marcus Stokes. What former black UF players say about Stokes is relevant. Stop trying to turn the thread into something else, because you lost.
Great, feel free to support Stokes at his next school and continue crying about cancel culture. Let me know how that works out for you.
To me, this shows an astounding ignorance of Black history and, consequently, an insensitivity to the black experience. You seem to be pouting about not being allowed to use the word whenever you want to use it.
From my experience, Black people disagree on this topic. Some think nobody should use n-word. Others think it is proper for Black people to reclaim the word. And a smaller group don't care when other groups use it as long as they're not being malicious. It's not my place to tell Black people how to feel about this. I do feel it's my place to tell white people who start whining about the "double standard" and demanding that Black people not use the word to put a sock in it.
I said he never used it after he got famous, you claimed he still uses it. Like I said you're out of your element discussing hip hop, stick to defending criminal scumbag presidents.
He was caught using the word in an old song before he got famous. That poster (wrongly) said he used the word in a music video after he got famous.
You are right and wrong at the same time. The Gators specifically said they were pulling his scholly because of the insensitive post he made NOT because they no longer needed him because he isn't as good as the other guy. This could have all been avoided if the Gators simply said we no longer have room for Stokes but no they needed to bring up the incensitive post he made as a reason. That opened the door for people to start calling Stokes a racist. Quite unfortunate in my opinion.
