both Tebow and Kapernick had marginal skill sets that may have kept them on a team. Both brought polarizing challenges that no team wanted to deal with.

There isn't a single second or third string player in the league that would still be in the league if they brought that kind of media circus/polarization. It had absolutely nothing to do with his skin color any more than Tebow getting cut did.

sometimes the juice just isn't worth the squeeze

switch sports, if Kyrie Irving was a bench warmer he would be out of the league right now and it wouldn't be because of his color.

these types of false flags cost the real problem credibility

If a player sucks and can't stay in the league, then fine. The difference is the president who was in office while Tebow was playing wasn't denigrating Tebow in public and calling for him to never play in the NFL again. Can you imagine the reaction if Barack Obama called Tebow a prayer kneeling sonofabitch and told NFL teams to not sign him, the way that other idiot president did to Kaepernick? These conservative Gator fans who love Tebow already hate Obama's guts, they'd hate him even more for daring to slander Timmy in public. They loved it when the other idiotic president slandered Kaepernick tho!

Most of us here have more regard for a Gator commit than we do for a sucky backup QB who never contributed anything to UF.

I was a big fan of Tebow's, and it's likely considered blasphemy to say this on this board, but he wasn't a NFL QB. You can't design a functional NFL offense around a QB who completes less than 50% of his passes. Tebow had a great run in Denver that year, but he was too much of a gimmick to have a future at the position.

Colin Kaepernick had some huge flaws, but he was a borderline starting caliber QB when the NFL ran him out of the league. If he was Tom Brady, would he have stuck around? Sure. But he didn't get run out of the league because he lacked the ability. He got ran out of the league because of his protesting. Had he not protested, he might still be playing today at 35 years old.

Fact is the dude was still a great athlete and a serviceable game manager in his final year in the NFL. Plenty of teams could have used a bridge QB or a backup QB with those abilities. If you look at the 2017 season, Kaepernick was better than five guys who were starters that year (Brian Hoyer with San Francisco, Trevor Siemian in Denver, Jay Cutler in Miami, Josh McCown with the Jets, and Jacoby Brissett with the Colts).

Now, you can certainly make an argument for one or two of those guys why Kaepernick wasn't the right fit (even if he hadn't protested), but he'd likely have been competing for a starting job somewhere if not for his protest. That's what got him run out of the NFL, not ability. He simply wasn't a great enough player for the protest to outweigh his ability.

And personally, I have no issue with NFL owners making that call. Our actions have consequences. That includes actions I agree with. But I'm also not a person who complains about "cancel culture."

It's kind of incredible you make this point after you've spent so much time in this thread complaining about Stokes's treatment.

He tried to overthrow a corrupt election just like every Democrat that has ever lost an election. Look at his policies and you will see how strong he made America unlike the current guy that only has love for our biggest adversaries.

They have Hillary this time! Wait no, is it Hunter Biden now? I can't remember which family Republicans have decided is supposedly the most corrupt one. This level of projection would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Again, you have black, former Gator players who are publicly defending Stokes. They don’t need you to white-splain it to them.

Terrible person. Terrible policies. Left office with a weaker America. And only continues to harm this country.

It is possible that the civil war had multiple causes. They should all be taught.

Well then you'll have to excuse the general public who don't care about Gator football and who see Stokes as nothing more than a sucky backup QB who got caught doing something stupid on social media. Shrug.

Trump put the biggest sanctions on Putin ever and taxed China for their unfair business practices (something no other administration ever did and certainly not the current President).
