Yeah n Yeah no, on the read angle. Its a single read not complicated. Definitely may be a situation of AR predetermining based on previous plays. Think start of the second half where he picked up 8 yds on first down and kept the ball on the next play for no gain.
The read option is much more simple than the triple option wishbone. Basically its one read....does the DE crash to the interior or not. Not and you let the back take the ball, crash, then you keep it.
Although I agree, CBN called two times the number of pass plays versus run! 43 passes and only 21 runs. That’s not on AR unless he was changing the plays. I actually think that BN’s offense is better suited for more of a pocket passer than a duel threat QB. Forces him to depend on the RBs for the run game.
AR was the third best rated QB in the nation this week per PFF. Even if you disagree with their assessment he absolutely did not lose the game. By all legit accounts he was the best player on the field. Sure we can say he could have done more, or that his potential is greater than his output. But he was damn good vs Vandy compared to his peers
Is ushering 6 players to the portal mid season an example of letting inmates run the asylum? Some on here really seem to be taking big leaps based on assumption. We don’t know what AR’s intentions and how it relates to the team. BN does not have a 10 yr Power 5 HC resume to point to. He has no choice but to take a pragmatic approach to this rebuild. It requires a strong balance between “I love you guys” …and …”if you can’t do what we’re asking, then there’s the door”. So far, he’s been able to do both.
And yet they should look at what happened to Tennessee's QB when he had a non-contact season-ending injury.
Statistics are for losers which we did. I would willingly trade a 200 yds passing game for a win. I want the QB to lead the offense and team to a win not an individual beauty contest winner and i want the middle LB to rally the defense to be an equal part of the winning team effort. Are you part of AR’s compensation team/advisors? Last year you blasted the staff at every turn demanding a change at QB first then overall later. This year you have been cheering section for AR despite his many short comings on the field deflecting blame on the staff. This year we are what our QB is erratic with little emotion. This is a team sport not golf. The QB is responsible for a leadership position that is indisputable. I wish AR the best in future endeavors. He was a project when DM signed him and he still is, let his next staff continue his development
Right. No INT, R1 to the Lions. Interception on a Hail Mary, NFL scouts have no way of understanding context, and he's XFL at best. Nailed it.
I'm very interested in how YOU can tell the difference between what was called from the "amateurish" head coach and what was checked-into by the QB. Please tell us . . .
It looks like you forgot a digit (5) in front of the "3". I believe below is an accurate assessment for week 12. (UF vs Vandy week). 2022 College Football Weekly Leaders Total QBR | ESPN
He was a very good college passer. At this point, AR is not. That's the point. I don't actually think he is limited in the NFL either, just had the standard learning curve.
Truly elite company in #’s 47-53 (all L except 2 spots). Dont worry Matty will chime in shortly with a spin/correction statement
I try not to disparage our players. AR has a load of talent but he remains inconsistent. I always believed he may improve, however for a 1st round NFL pick, i don't see a team taking a chance. I do see a 2nd or 3rd round pick by some team at this time. If AR does improve or become more consistent as a QB, then obviously he will be a 1st round pick. I think CBN is trying to manage our QB room best he can considering what we have at this time.
Well he was 15 spots better than his counterpart on that chart. If all other spots graded like that, sounds like a win. Then again, he didn't even return one punt, make an XP, combo block on those zone reads, fill the A gap, and certainly didn't stop three different players from blowing 3rd down stops with penalties. AR clearly doesn't have the desire to play 15 spots better than his counterpart at 22 different positions. What a shame.
They probably got a look at that if I remember the week before where instead of chucking it to the end zone before half he ran 20 yards and got tackled running the clock out with no decent attempt to get any points.
