Technically you are correct, but given no other info it sure seems that the coaches quit on him first with lack of playing time. Freshmen were playing ahead of him. I don't blame him at all. Would he have even played Sat, who knows at this point.
Not with this defense it ain’t. Our best and most complete game was against South Carolina. Go look at the TOP and defensive snaps numbers. There’s a reason it felt like a dominant win even when we didn’t do much in the second half.
Coach was disappointed some guys left before the season was over. That’s quitting on your teammates in the middle of the fight.
Coaches quit on him? No. He backed up Pearsall and saw limited snaps. The one game where Pearsall goes down, Whit had already quit the team. Not everybody gets what they think they should get. That’s why you do your job the best you can and get coached up. When the season is over, you can move on no hard feelings. Maybe one day we will know exactly what happened, but as of right now I would say he wasn’t good enough and was jumped by younger players for snaps and then decided to quit.
Couldn’t agree more. Creed is fun to watch and will be an excellent slot in college. Hard to understand a lot of things like how Trent didn’t get on the field, How Bowman is now playing ahead of Caleb Douglas. Douglas has a huge ceiling and can be helping us now. Tired of hearing wait till next year dnd things like that. I’m concerned about beating FSU and not losing to every rival.
I feel very good about beating FSU! I don't know why everyone is so worried about them, they are not that good. I wish we had Miller the whole game, but we will keep it close in the first half and pull away in the second. We are a second half team, and they are not!
Spurrier handled it just fine. Besides that man/press is the best back end defense we have. The problem is having enough good backups to keep our secondary fresh, same goes with the D-line. We have to get better backups, and they are on the way in the 2023 recruiting class.
He didn’t handle it fine his last season in the SEC at Carolina. Napier is not SOS and he’s never shown to be remotely like SOS or ever said he was. To expect him to be is a bit unfair, don’t you think? Our defense lacks depth. We knew this coming in and with Ventrell and Torrence out of the game, it was even worse.
It's all on the DC. If we get the recruits and the schemes right then we can handle both a good offense and a good defense. Now, I never said it would be easy, but it is something that can be done... NOT impossible.
Lol, in case you missed the games....Caleb backs up Shorter, he was actually the starter vs usc with Shorter out. Bowman is a slot, he was backing up Ricky because Trent quit. This isn't that hard. Ricky beat out Trent...and while I like Trent as a player Imo Ricky is better. I think how Trent responded is pretty clear. He was only playing behind Ricky for the early games of the sesson
Douglas actually lost snaps to Daejon Reynolds this week 59 to 12. Snap counts for the Florida Gators in week 12 vs Vanderbilt | GatorCountry.com
Question becomes, who gave up on who? I've heard speculation in both directions. And no freshmen played ahead of him until it became clear he was gone
Love Creed athleticism and would love to have him....but you don't give his brother snaps just to keep him happy. Very bad road to go down
FSU is 8-3 with a chance to make a NY6 bowl. They will be very hungry not just for that, but the state title too. This isn't just for state bragging rights but who has the inside track in recruiting. FSU wins, they can say they are better than everyone in the state and that will help in recruiting. Who do they compare to in terms of teams we have already played? Tennessee is close, maybe a step down from them. Easily the 3rd toughest game we will have this season.
I'm not sure he would have gotten in over the waterboy...but that is irrelevant since he's gone now anyway.
