I'm in a "wait-and-see" mode about Napier and staff but thus far I am not impressed with the game day coaching, the predictable and boring offense and the inconsistent and at times stupid play of D and especially special teams. Napier and staff seem to be learning on the job in big-time football. I fully agree with the heading of this thread: Napier and staff have been outcoached multiple times this year- UK, USF, LSU and Vandy for sure and even Utah- only a miracle pick saved us from losing that one. Yesterday was one of the more frustrating games to watch as Napier stayed with the same few basket of plays repeatedly. No wrinkles, no surprises- just predictable and boring. Plus it was obvious that the team was not ready to play an 11 am road game in cold weather. All on the coaches for players unprepared from the opening whistle. If they repeat that vs FSU- it will get ugly quick in Tally.

BN learning on the job...Clock/game management is at times terrible
...play calling more often a fail
    1. Clearly Vandy was going to run the ball pinned down near the end of the first half....UF defense should have committed to stopping the run and use their 3 timeouts to stop the clock and get field position for a possible score.......and anything can happen on a punt from the EZ...BN actually ran out the clock for Vandy......I must have heard "scared money don't make money" a thousand times before the season started and yet the gators choose scared on offense so often.....except when they go for it on 4th down or 2 point conversion in questionable situations
    2. AR still hasn't developed touch on his passes. He needs to loft the ball sometimes such as on the first attempt at a two point conversion....love the kid, he's a great athlete, occasional QB flashes, should run more, its on the coaches.
    3. I've said it all season....the gators don't throw enough passes to the RB's, our best weapons.....been hoping to see a conventional screen pass or anything to the RB's....just the type of pass to help AR....still not sure if the offense has even tried one......and today the SEC network put up a graphic showing the gator offense has completed a total of 17 passes to the RBs for the SEASON.....that's less than 2 RB pass completions/game (unless the stat is a mistake; if not, its mind numbing).....go figure.....and the WR screen pass is tough for AR to complete, and if so, it's usually not blocked well
    4. Run up the middle on 3rd and 8?
    5. Next week should be fun, hopefully we rebound with solid effort and a great game......this team is certainly capable of "surprising" fsu

We are 6-5. Wait till next week, we could rush for 400 yards and lose. FSU will score quick and often, that isn’t allowed with our offense. I bet we have more 3 and outs than the last three coaches we have. That tough Vandy stacked defense showed us we are one dimensional. Our passing game came in trying to catch up, why didn’t anyone on the Florida side have any sense of urgency in the first half. How many three and outs, it is getting old. Our rivals can’t wait to see us come to their house. When your running game isn’t working, you have to mix it up. No we kept pounding to no avail. Sideways passing added in, well I guess Anthony’s stats will alway look high percentage, but yardage and point wise, futile!

My reply to this is SS saying, I will take eleven and you take eleven, and I will beat you. Huepel at Tennessee inherited a mess, he is bringing Tennessee back fast and with an exciting team.
Our offense is dull as dishwater! So we have to wait to see if we made another costly hire. Aren’t you tired of the wait for it, then let down?

Delete AR's two interceptions and we win this game. Both INTs were HS level decisions NOT to attempt the pass. One straight to the defender and the other almost identical.

Billy is going to befall Mullen or Muschamp if he keeps the play calling to himself. He will fall on this sword, but he's great at recruiting. Once Napier is gone, whoever is next coach up with a separate OC will likely win it all.

Sadly Vandy wasn’t the first team to do that, ya think we would have a wrinkle to burn them when they stack the box like that. My son’s HS team did…

You mean the pick that low and away from the receiver(where only the receiver could get it?) The one that literally bounced off and rolled over the receiver so the DB could make a crazy grab right before it hit the ground?

    AR didn’t have another pick.
Perhaps you’re talking about a different game?

At least if you’re gonna criticize a player get the stats right.

Yeah by throwing for 400 yards..

    He doesn’t play defense.
    He doesn’t return punts.
He also doesn’t catch his passes.
At least 3-5 drops per game. I’m only counting balls the receivers touch with two hands. Ones that every college player should catch.

He didn’t get one penalty that aided scoring drives for Vandy.

I was talking about the Kentucky game.
AR singlehandedly lost the UK game. Two horrific INTs. A pick6 and another almost taken to the house.

Too early to tell. Only two real alarming things this year for me that make me nervous for our future:

    - Awful clock management so many times this year. Any coach can have awful clock management once a season, but why has this happened several games this year? Along with the weird 2pt decisions (I still can't get over TN game, that was goofball nonsense to go for two. Should have been lining up for a game tying fg in the end). Some scratch your head in game decisions.

    - Losing to Vandy. Commodores suck. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. That team is some real stank. You can't lose to Vandy man. I don't care if it is year one.

Confusing as you said “this game”. That’s sounds more like the game that was played most recently, not 2 months ago….

    You're right.

I was replying to the OP where he listed for games (UK being one) where we were out coached. My original reply quoted the Kentucky comment.
