Knock someone out in an elevator and commit a violent felony assault, and you can still play football. Or just use the same exact words, while singing a song, and it's okay.

He should be allowed to explain himself to the entire coaching staff and players, and apologies.

when it’s all said and done, THIS is what i think it comes down to. No Rashada in the fold, this is handled internally and swept under the rug and it woulda been whatever happens if he became our starter but once Rashada jumped on board, this became an easy out to push him out. Self sabotage

Who knocked someone out and still played? Ray Rice never played a down in the NFL again after that

Riley Cooper used the N word as a slur and still was employed after that if we going to go there….

Agreed. Sounds like he was the one who posted it to social media which compounds the issue.

Yeah but that isn’t happening at UF. Don’t hold the Baltimore ravens to the same standard as Uf. That’s an awful comparison lol

Ray Rice never played again? Interesting.

Ray Rice Can Now Play Football Again, But Here's Why He Probably Never Will

The point is that this should be something that is not taken to the degree that it is. But I do agree with another QB in the fold, things are different.

The Cooper thing was weird, because it proves that different players get treated differently for using that word.

This was a Florida athletics thing...

And didn’t he gets in a couple fights, laid out a few times, and fined? Then people got past it. Think he flamed out shortly afterwards though.

Also, that was him specifically saying hard R right? Not just singing a song that all his teammates can sing with no issue what so ever.

Imo that’s the way to do it, let the players work it out

If this is the standard of UF than every student and athlete should have their social media scrutinized and promptly dismissed if found wanting.

Yep, it most definitely a UF decision/thing.

Ray rice isn’t a UF thing was what I was saying. Can’t compare what the NFL does to what UF does. Let’s keep it to Stokes

I have to say that after Rashada committed that he was the odd man out... like Bobby said.

I agree, but I still don't like zero tolerance.

Anyway, it was quite preventable, and a self inflicted wound.

This isn’t the place to debate this. Everybody is right … and everyone is wrong at the same time. And hope this doesn’t follow him forever, But damn man …have some self awareness.

Having said that I was very skeptical he was going to stay in the class anyway, post Rashada.

We gonna slide this convo to the Marcus Stokes thread or changing title of this thread to Social Climate Updates 2022?
